RESCUE-RACING Morale Park in Bagram Afghanistan (New Track 2011)

We are building a very nice free to race RC car race track, and rock crawling pit in Bagram, Afghanistan.

You can look it up on Facebook as RESCUE-RACING CSAR. We are USAF Combat Search and Rescue MX and RQS units. We have been working on it for about 2 and a half weeks. We procurred 12 dump truck loads of dirt from a local contractor. We have the basic track layout, but we are needing some stakes to expand. Materials are hard to come by, most of which are donated.

Our racing stand currently is built for 12 drivers side by side, although we had 16 of our Korean Army Aviation brothers driving on it the other day. We are expanding it 40% to have ample room for 20 drivers. We have 10 buggies, truggies, monster trucks, and SCT's on my shift. The Korean's are fielding 9 trucks, and the Army has about 5 that we know of. There are also a few others scattered here, and there. Once we procure paint, I will paint the track's wood, and make a sign. The sign will include the point of contact email for track announcements, and race times.

Currently our plan is twice a week at 12:30. We are thinking Tuesday/Friday, but Tuesday/Saturday or Sunday might be what actually goes down. 12:30 is the solid time though. [email protected] is the point of contact email.

We have put in ALOT of off-duty time to build this track, and we will continue to up keep it, and appreciate all help and supplies we can get.

Most of all we hope you appreciate this as a good time away from your normal duties whenever you can get to it.

We have added alot of photos to the track Facebook. Please stop by and check them out.

We are currently in the process of trying to work out logistics, and planning to permanently station RC trucks he, here at Bagram AB. It will be a USO type morale program so troops, and others can check out a truck and take a load off. We are on East side, there aren't any USO or USO type places here on Warrior currently. So this would be a big morale boost for troops here.

We had a good race yesterday, and I will be uploading about 50 pictures to the facebook tonight. We have about 100 pictures on the Facebook already. Stop by friend us, and check it out.

New Track Pictures updated! The track is newly rebuilt. It has 2 new tight switchback turns. Also a long slight elevation changing turn with a switchback at the end. The mound was remade with an entire dirt mound. No more slick wood causing tire slippage. The doubles, whoops, and tabletop got beefed to the max. The high speed berm on the straight-away is elongated from turn to the doubles. The bridge is gone, and was replaced by a wider rope-less dirt straight-away extension. Irrigation on the track is much improved as well. The stands also have netting to block the sun's sting, and lower temps by 10 deg F!

Also we beefed the rock crawling mountain, and we added a rock crawling drag strip!

TTRC-Camp Phoenix Raceway

Hey Bro, I am at Camp Phoenix, Kabul. We have a track also. It took us about a month or so. We are over 17 members and roughly 36 vehicles. We run 1/10 buggies, truggies, SCT as well as 1/8 buggies and SCT. Our club is called TTRC which means Team Tactical R/C. Maybe if you guys have people move around make sure they know we are here as well. There is also a Marine base with a nice track from what I hear. You guys running 1/8 scale? You have a lap counting system? We need one out here if you have any connections. Hope to here from your club time to time. Keep the shiny side up bro:D

Well I'm headed back to Afghan soon, 3 tour in less than 2 years. We will have to rebuild since the Army destroyed the track so they could put 1, count em 1 ISU there.

Don't worry we got a great crew, and will do our best to do something amazing.
