ATTENTION RACERS:

We went to the track today to do some maintenance before tomorrow and they had a storm and flash flooding in the park yesterday. The track is completely flooded and we will not be open this weekend.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

SERIES SPONSORS and FLYER coming soon.

Here are the details of the series:

ARC Raceway Presents the 2011 Snowman Series

The 2011 Snowman Series is a four (4) race pointís series in which racers will accumulate points according to their finishing position, in the main event, on the selected race dates.

Race 1 Ė December 17th
Race 2 Ė January 7th
Race 3 Ė January 21st
Race 4 Ė February 4th final

Gates will open at 7:00am
Sign-ups close at 9:00am
Practice closes at 9:45am
Racing Starts at 10:00am

Entry Fee $25.00

There will be one (1) throw out allowed for racers who miss a pointís night or have a poor finish which they do not want to add to their pointís total. So three (3) races will count towards the series pointís total and the following is how the points will work for each individual Spring Shootout Series pointís night. The first place finisher in each class on each series pointís night will receive 100 points for that night. For each position under that minus one (-1) point from the upper position:

Finishing Position Points
First 100
Second 99
Third 98
Fourth 97 and so on

The TQ / Top Qualifier for each class will also receive one (1) bonus point for that night. Adding excitement to qualifying and possibly making the difference in winning the series!

So theoretically on a series pointís race night a racer could TQ his class and finish first place in the main event which would award him 101 points for that night.

At the end of the series if there is a tie in pointís we will use the following format for a tie breaker:

Step One: The most amount of wins
Step Two: The most TQís
Step Three: The driver with a better qualifying time on the day of the final - Race 4

Classes are as follows and determination of a skill level change is at the discretion of ARC Raceways Race Director only.

Nitro:
Sportsman 1/8 Buggy
Expert 1/8 Buggy
Pro 1/8 Buggy+
Sportsman Truggy
Expert Truggy*

Electric:
Sportsman SC 2wd
Expert SC 2wd*
Sportsman SC 4wd
Expert SC 4wd*
Electric 1/8 buggy

Sportsman SC Class must run a motor no larger than 13.5 and no boost on ESC.

Sportsman Class: This class supports drivers who are just beginning to race or whose skill level is one of a sportsman.

Expert Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is further honed and have advanced their way out of the Sportsman Class. Typically an Expert Class driver has a good amount of stick time under his belt and could have a couple sponsors starting to help them out.

Pro Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is one of a Pro and has advanced their way out of the Expert Class. The Pro Class is the pinnacle of oneís talent and you regularly find drivers aspiring for factory sponsorships as well as factory pro drivers who are paid ambassadors for the sport, racing the Pro division.

*Sponsored drivers must compete in the expert division of these classes.
+Any driver with a chassis sponsorship of 1% and above must race the Pro Class in 1/8 Buggy.

Qualifiers for Short Course are 5 minutes long with 7 minute mains.
Qualifiers for 1/8 Scale are 7 minutes long.

Sportsman Buggy and Truggy Main length:
A-Main - 15 minutes
B-Mains - 10 minutes
C-Mains and below - 7 minutes

Expert Buggy and Truggy Mains length:
A-Mains - 20 minutes
B-Mains - 15 minutes
C-Mains - 10 minutes

Pro Buggy Main length:
A-Mains - 30 minutes
B-Mains - 15 minutes
C-Mains - 10 minutes

Electric 1/8 Buggy Main length:
A-Mains - 10 minutes
B-Mains - 7 minutes
C-Mains - 5 minutes

Short Course Main length:
A-Mains - 7 minutes
B-Mains - 5 minutes

When I was at the track last weekend, Dan said the layout would stay the same for the first round.

The layout will be the same as the Sidewinder Race and the track is open this weekend for practice.

There was only one race on that layout.
