Small change to the classes and rules for the Spring Shootout Series:

Classes are as follows and determination of a skill level change is at the discretion of ARC Raceways Race Director only.

Sportsman 1/8 Buggy

Expert 1/8 Buggy

Pro 1/8 Buggy+

Electric 1/8 Buggy..................(Any motor and battery will be allowed)

Sportsman Truggy

Expert Truggy*

Sportsman SC 2wd**

Expert SC 2wd*

Sportsman SC 4wd (550 motor limit)

Expert SC 4wd (550 motor limit)

Descriptions:

Sportsman Class: This class supports drivers who are just beginning to race or whose skill level is one of a sportsman.

Expert Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is further honed and have advanced their way out of the Sportsman Class. Typically an Expert Class driver has a good amount of stick time under his belt and could have a couple sponsors starting to help them out.

Pro Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is one of a Pro and has advanced their way out of the Expert Class. The Pro Class is the pinnacle of one’s talent and you regularly find drivers aspiring for factory sponsorships as well as factory pro drivers who are paid ambassadors for the sport, racing the Pro division.

*Sponsored drivers must compete in the expert division of these classes.

+Any driver with a chassis sponsorship of 1% and above must race the Pro Class in 1/8 Buggy.

**Sportsman SC Class - 17.5 BL motor limit, NO ESC timing advance/boost.

Track Star crew plans on heading out to ARC in Temecula on Saturday for some good ole fashion club racing. We will be bringing out the 2wd SC trucks and nitro buggies. Hope to see more locals who aren't attending the 3 day Nats warm-up race.

My son and I are new to the area and saw the ARC track info and got excited about visiting. We mostly run 1/8 buggy and truggy but I am wanting to race the 4x4 SC class as well. I see that class listed on your web page but I didn't see the rules for that class. Is it basically an open class? What type of tires does everyone in the expert class tend to run and are they allowed to run the buggy tire conversion? I don't want to show up and not have set the truck up to be competitive. It's the first time I will have raced the 4WD SC....can't wait to visit.

The motor for the 4wd SC will be any 550 motor, I'm pretty sure they only will allow SC rims and tires. I run the Losi SCTE and Proline Caliber works great there, I think AKA Gridiron would work too. As for battery, I run 2s but I don't know if they allow anything more than 2s, I'll let them answer that.

Glad to see you added a 1/8th electric class. What will the duration of the mains be in this class.
