Default Salinas CA Track?

Does anyone know if the track in Salinas has reopened? Last I heard their computer equipment was stolen. Anyway I'll be in that general area the first weekend of August and I'm looking for somewhere to run.

Blewer,

I read on rcracing.com a couple weeks ago that they werent allowed to race for because of insurance i think. I think it said that they are still trying to get up and running again. Maybe take a look at the message board area of rcracing and do a quick search.

Good Luck,

Blake

Sean,

You are ooing to be pretty close to a lot of racing spots. While i was trying to think of the cities some of the tracks are in i remembered rcracing has a schedule for the local tracks:

http://www.rcracing.com/Race_Schedule_284.cfm

It even looks like Salinas is going to up and running in the first week of August, you should deffinetly give them a call to make sure but they are on the callender. Also there looks to be a large race scheduled for August 8th a bit over an hour away from Watsonville, the West Coast Shootout.

Black Kat,

Salinas is only 30 minutes away from Watsonville which isnt bad at all. Looks like Newark and Santa Clara race as well on Sundays and they are 45- an hour away which seems pretty reasonable to me. I think Gilroy races offroad on Sundays as well(30 minutes away) but im not sure about their turnouts anymore.

If Salinas is up and running by then I'll be there. Do you have any info on Santa Clara? Man I thought you guys tripped over tracks in Cali, I guess not.

Thanks for your help Blake.

Tripped over tracks in Cali haha, I live on the central coast, the closest track to me is 2.5 hours away yet i still have been racing for 15 years almost on a weekly basis. It just depends on where you live I guess. I havent raced in Santa Clara but it seems like they get good turnouts and the threads about them are always positive. Their club name is RCCAR I believe.

Southern California is where all the tracks are.
When I used to live in Monterey, we had to travel to go racing.

I'm planning on making a trip up to Northern California (Monterey Bay area).
Could you give me a list of the tracks that are up there now (Nothing passed San Jose).
I'm looking for places that run 1/10 200mm and 1/8 on road.

PSI,

I think from what i have read, the RAMS and ROCKS club race nitro sedan and 1/8th scale on a regular basis and get good turnouts. Take a look:

http://rocks.rcracing.com/

http://www.rams-rc.com/

Rams is in Santa Clara and is hosting the ROAR fuel on road nationals this coming weekend to.

Theres enough racing to race every weekend but you gotta be able to drive those miles

45 minutes driving no big deal? Try that without a car...impossible
