Not sure of any right in Chi-town but in Joliet their is a first class indoor offroad track and in Libertyville thier is a nice indoor onroad track with and outdoor offroad track. They are both within an hour of the city.

We are racers here in Chicago. We race off road buggies and trucks, and we race electric TC3's.

there aren't any tracks within the actual city limits, other than private clubs racing in places like VFW's and Moose Lodges.

But there are tracks and places where other racers race and bash.

For off road within an hour of Chicago:

Leisure Hours Raceway, Joliet (Crest Hill), IL
RSJ Raceway, Libertyville IL
ChicagoLand RC at Tinley Park Bowling Alley
AJ's raceway, Dekalb IL

Some others I haven't been to but want to go, a little farther away, within 2 hours:

Bristol RC, in Bristol Wisconsin
ExtremeRC in Monroe Wisonsin
S&N Trackside, Milwaukee Wisconsin (indoor on road and off road)

For on road:

RSJ Raceway, Libertyville IL (indoor carpet)

ChicagoLand RC at Tinley Park Bowling Alley
(outdoor)

Hobbytown Oak Park, IL

Hobbytown Niles, IL

In the City itself for bashing:

At night, especially Fridays and Saturdays:

Lane Tech High School, in the parking lot off of Western Ave.

Are you in China now? Are you moving to Chicago? Is that why you are asking about RC racing and what vehicle to buy?

there are lots of tracks and people in the chicago area. heck I bash around with a group og guys from ShowMeRc.com and right now there is a brand new chicago board at chitownrc.com that is looking for more people all the time. the more the merrier!
