Questions??

Is this track a dead idea? Haven't seen any posts lately and others are open.

According to the Pittsburgh Raceway Park website they are planning to have the tracks open by the end of May. The rain has held them up in construction except for maybe the rock crawling courses. They don't seem to view the forums much anymore so you'll have to keep an eye on their website for updates.

I'm hoping for the best but with all the talk since March, there has been time to get something started and maybe some pics up to keep people continually interested. Calls for volunteers maybe in exchange for membership? Progress pics? Granted, competing tracks didn't have to be built but places like McC's will keep their racers as they've been open. Still keeping my hopes up...

To get to the track do you turn into where the drag strip is?

Gabe, from what I understand the Drag Strip, MotoX, and RC all use the same entrance this year, with individual booths turning off of the main drive (last years MotoX/RC entrance) to the respective events. The RC tracks are right beside the Dragstrip (+/- 500'). Maybe Adam can better describe the new entrance layout.

yes the entrance will be the motorcross entrance from last year. they put a new road in and will be having everyone that comes into the park through that gate right off of 22. there are 4 booths that will be marked accordingly for mx, rc, and drag strip. this will be where you [pay and sign the waiver forms instead of going into the office. they just used it last nite for mx and it worked out very well.

Adam, thanks for the post! I wasn't sure on how the new entrance was setup. For guys coming from the east(Blairsville-Altoona,etc.), will they need to drive past the entrance on 22 and do a turn-around, or will they be able to get off at the Stone Jug Road intersection and still have access to the new entrance? I'll probably be up to the shop this week sometime for fuel, but in the mean time if you could use my help give me a call.
Thanks,
Jim

yes you will have to drive past and do a u turn because if you go in stone jug rd you wont be able to get to the gate.

Since we are into drag racing as well as RC, Is there any break on the drag spectators after we run in the RC event? Or is everything being kept separate?

I just took the time to read the page before this one. I too will run on a 1/8th track. I have (3) 1/8 scale vehicles and a 1/10 2wd SCT. No 1/5th scale here.

evrything will be kept seperate. mx, drags, and rc will all have their own wrist bands and you will have to pay for each one. if this goes good this year and the tedescos and myself will sit down and MAYBE see about doing a pass next year where you pay 1 price and can do all 3 but we have to take 1 step at a time and get this year rolling first.
