Keep your fingers crossed!! If all goes according to plan, we will have a computer lap counting system, rentals for the true novices, pits w/ electricity, vending machines, on site rc store, on site repair/tuning services and a 1/24th and 1/18th sale tabletop track (no lap counting for that, though, not at first). We hope to be open mid-late May up here in Crescent City, Ca. All are welcome, we will make the trip worth it!!!

How far is this from Lake shastina? My Buddy Scott Tomasello just moved up there. He works for the railroad now but he was the Owner of Stockton r/c raceway{only successful carpet track in all of California to this day} and use to be the guy who helped run Ripon r/c speedway in its hayday. He's very knowledgable in running an r/c veniew{one of the best around!} and this may keep him racing in some form. When he moved up there he figured he was done racing.Let me know.

If it's Shasta Lake near Redding, Ca., it's about 260 miles up into Oregon and then back down into California. Up I-5 and down Hwy 199, or west on hwy 299 and up hwy 101. Either way it's about 4-5 hours drive, according to Yahoo maps.

Lake Shastina is outside of Weed about 7 miles on 97 to Big Springs Road. It is between Yreka and Weed. About 50 minutes south of the Oregon Border.

Crescent City, I understand is about 2 hours west of here.

So your buddy who moved to Lake Shastina, does he like golf? Most of us who live in Lake Shastina live on or near the golf course. My backyard is on the 3rd hole of the Scottish Links course.

There are a much of celebrities that have houses out here I understand, like Governor Arnold, Robert Duval and Steven Segal.

OK, think I got the building secured, nice parking lot, bathrooms, plenty of space, already carpeted, easy to find for out-of-towners, near the main fastfood guys and near the local motels. Had to haggle on the rent, but think I have it worked out. NEXT: Money!!

Yeah the house he is buying is on a course. You could throw a rock to the green he says.

Well good luck on your buisness venture.Tracks are always a risky venture but if you can make it work thats good for racing in your area.Do you have a base group of racers?

Not a lot of serious racers yet, most are affraid to spend the money without a regular track and support in place first. There are some in the next county down who said they would be willing to come up for races, so we should have enough to stay open. I also did a survey and got really good feedback, based on that information, we should open a track to make everyone happy in one way or another. That's it for now!!

WhooHooo!! Talked to the landlady today and she is stoked about us opening a track. Gave us a REALLY good deal on the place. We took measurements and care working up a floor plan on Delta Cad. Based on the prelim numbers the track will be either 30 X 60 or 35 X 70 and we should have a minimum of 70 pit stalls!! As always, stay tuned for details!!!

In the final stages of the loan process, looking to the local EDC for funding, will be scheduling the presentation soon. Stay tuned and please leave feedback as to what you expect in a track and organized races. Fri night or Sat night or Sun afternoon?

185 miles over hill and dale to the Northern California coastline. Get over to Hwy 199 and follow it southwest, ends right at Crescent City.
