Default The hill is over grown

Wow I've been here on Okinawa for a year and a half and just found out there was an r/c track on Courtney. The opening day pics look awsome. What a bummer when I got there, one track heavily over grown. What happened in such a short amount of time? Where did the other tracks go??

Well, we went from 8 core guys down to three and other things come up. Last race was we only had 6 buggies.

It's been there for over a year and a half, lotta work went in, then people left, people don't like driving "all the way to Courtney" and only a few are able to put in the time to maintain it as Camp Services dropped the ball on getting the yard ninjas to keep it short.

Ha ha, short amount of time? That is 1 month of growth in good old Okinawa this time of year. There will be a race the first Sunday in November if I have to cut all the grass myself (again).

You do know there is an indoor offroad carpet track @ Navel Kadena. As long as you run a 4000kv or slower motor (stock slash 4x4 is 3600kv), and clean up your truck you can drive it there. A group of us go on Tues. nights, usually between 6 and 10.

no I got lazy and didn't do any work on the track...going up to the white beach fest.

gandered at the Hill yesterday, looks pretty non-op, they got stuff in front of the driver stand, not sure if it's on the track or not. They are apparently building something on site, brought a bunch of real dirt in and moving it around....

Thats sad that the track is going away. Wish I could have been more active with the track but a new kid will do that to you.

Like Igy posted, we will be there this Sunday to start bringing the track back. Just Igy and Me (possibly Jon) will not be enough, we need more people. The more help we have the less time it will take to get the track back on course and we can start having races again. So mark it on your calenders, put it on your planners, whatever it takes just be there.

Hey Anthony you are selling your Ta05? You still have it? Korea is nothing but a concrete jungle for me here. No real off road stuff to be had.

Glad to hear the track is not gone. Currently deployed and will be back sometime in May or June.
