With JTG and the right tires it wasn't too much of a problem at OCRC.
i don't know about that, with 1/12 at OCRC you couldn't go 8minutes without full sauce on the fronts. they would gum up with crud from the track, and the car would push. some said that it was a jtg trait but usually they were picking up more front traction on the unsauced portion, not less.

maybe it was the predominantly rubber tire usage was the source of the crud that came off the carpet.

i know people want to run what they want, but that track looks right sized for pan cars.

Hey Tony.
I ran a 12R5.1 & F-103 there quite a bit.
Found an easy solution to the issue, and never had them gum up again !

Hey Dave, what was your secret?
it seemed for me that any untreated area would crud up, and only blacks were drivable with full sauce.

i did get advice that the problem was that the fronts were getting overworked/overheated, and to give the car more steering by loosening up the rear so the fronts didn't get worked so hard. the track closed before i found an aggressive but still drivable setup, that went the 8 minutes.

And If little Johnny wants to run, I would have rentals for situations like that.

It's not a matter of turning customers away, it's more about educating them on how a RACE TRACK operates.
That new rug ain't cheap, treat it with respect and it will last quite some time.

At Bob & Jims, Bob would greet you as you walked in, asked if you needed any help, and point you to the experienced drivers there.
From then on you just got sucked in to the most fun you could have with an RC car

Good Times, miss that place, cockroaches, mice and all...
um people run TCs in the east coast where the tracks was smaller. 70x40 usually or SMALLER.

Who cares what those crazy folks back there do in the cold of winter

I suppose you could run a 3 or for turn track to make room for the taxi's, but why would you want to do that, there are plenty of tracks around for those already.

Sounds like Red has everything all figured out for the track owner already. Maybe he can get some more racer's to show up for the one's he has already turned off to this place before it even opened. Good job Red, WTG dude! !.....

Sheesh!
Some sensitive Taxi drivers here.

I obviously don't speak for the owner.
Direct drives seem PERFECT for this place, but bring whatever you feel comfortable with.

X2, Thanks James!
Like I said before, I am not the track owner, but I know him and as he has requested on his web site, give him some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to work with. If all you can do is bash other's choice of car or the pictures of the track, then you are still invited to show up and race, without the crappy attitude! As James posted above, kick back and LET'S RACE!

Oh, by the way, the web site is; http://www.tqrcracing.com/ Register so you will get emailed up dates of when opening day will happen.
Thank you and have a nice day!
