  • Hey guys,

I'm a former racer thinking about getting back into the game. I just finished up at Penn State and I am now working in Williamsport. I used to race at McCullough's Offroad in Sarver, PA as well as Altoona Raceway. The last time I raced was in 2006. At that time I was running 2wd stock and mod buggy as well as 4wd. I still have my FT B4 and my XXX-4 but with the old 3800 nimh packs and orion revolution motors. What classes are you guys running up there? I am interested in getting back into all of this but need to know what the heck to buy. I was looking at the RC8BE but if you guys are running classes for which I already have vehicles it will definitely help my bank account!

Is there any advice you guys can give me as far as equipment goes? I still have my Airtronics M11 w/ spektrum, airtronics 94357 servos, and my 2 vehicles.
  • We have a good size 4x4 short course class and a 2wd class. Were not running to much 1/8 scale, but looks like we may be starting a 1/10 buggy class!

Sounds like you just need to get some 2cell Lipo batteries. I had some nimh batteries from when I raced 7 years ago that didn't take a charge at all, and a brushless system for your B4. Like Ryan said, we have a pile of 4x4 Short course trucks and the 2wd is getting big too. and now there is 7 (8 if you come) in the 2wd buggy class!
  • ya, ive been looking for those square ones but i just cant seem to find them
