they will have somethin for all of u. they will not be turnin racers away. honestly, not really sure why they'd need a class with more than 17.5 on tap. 17.5 is more than enuff motor to get urself in trouble with. they'll iron it out over the 1st few wks and it'll be fine. more than likely have a spec class of slashes (that may later incorporate other trucks w/same motor and tires perhaps)...and somethin perhaps like a open 17.5 for folks movin up the ladder.

I want to run either a mod class SCT or a Pro class of SCT.

Here is the delimma at this time. We would like to have the Slash, Strike and SC10 to run together in a SPEC class like we ran SPEC Slash last year. We are testing the different brands right now and tommorrow will be a big test at another track with all the brands running together so will see what happens.

So far in preliminary testing at PitStop Hobbies the Slash has proven to be faster than the Strike and SC10 in laptimes. The Strike and SC10 do better when the track is higher bite but in stock form the Slash performs better than the Stock Strike and SC10 on medium to loose tracks.

If all the brands work out to be pretty equal then we would run a MOD SCT class. Mod will be any motor, any 2 cell lipo, any SCT tire (not 1/9th scale tire conversions), any SCT body, chassis mods would be legal or after market chassis, alum parts ok.

If for whatever reason we have to run the Slash trucks at a class like last year then the 2nd SCT class would be Pro Spec which would be any of the SCT trucks (Slash, SC10, Strike and the Blitz) running them pretty box stock still be all bands would compete together.

We need at least one race weekend at Bumps to see how the truck fair out when raced together. We are seeing a pattern on the outdoor tracks but still need to be fair and run at are track. We are trying to accomadate as many racers as possible without making 100 different classes. Please hang with us and give us a race weekend at are track to see on track results and to talk to are racers that will be racing with us this year.

Thanks
Brian

Well B why not just say out front that Slash Spec will be run again this yr, thus all who got the trucks can come back without question. Test the other trucks in stock trim and with all trucks using stock slash tires. See how things shake out. if the other trucks can jump in fairly, then so will it be.

Perhaps the folks in charge need to look more at the driver/driver ability than the trucks for a separation in class. Sportsman SCT and Expert SCT, the rules can evolve to make things right as more is known (but not to hose people on what they buy). Perhaps expert will have more freedom to upgrade the trucks.

Have a cutoff that has to be attained before you can move up (or prevent u from dropping down). While i dont like pitchin their idea, the 'national sanctioning body' stated 17.5 for SCT. perhaps somethin to follow. if folks wanna run 'MOD', then perhaps they can again run with the mod trucks to help that classes car count (which might not need it considerin how many more trucks i saw at pitstop).

somethin to chew on

I completely understand the need for s spec slash class for all those guys and gals that bought spec slashes to run in that class.

Maybe for the first week or two, run all spec SCT's together. Then, after the second week or before the beginning of the third week, ask people what should be done for a points series... if they want to run them together or not. After a couple weeks, people should have a pretty good idea if they feel comfortable running the different RTR SCT's together or not. Just an idea.

As mentioned I did TQ and win with a Slash today. Bob Moore finished 2nd with a Slash and I pretty sure 3rd place was a Slash as well. I think pretty much every truck but 1 or 2 in the A main where Slash trucks. They had 40 entries today in the class. I drove one of my better races on offroad in a long long time. I think I made two mistakes in the 10 minute main in a medium traction track for the main.

My truck, Bobs, Kurts, and Mike Kennedy from are group all had hooked up Slash trucks. Chad from Bumps, Luke and Lou from the Hidden Hanger ran the SC10 trucks. They did have some traction problems. Chad did try his new Losi but broke a tie rod and shock bottom. Truck was very loose overall for him.

Once again the Slash trucks showed much better traction overall with the stock tires and the extra weight of the Slash made it alot easier to drive fast. The SC10 like when I ran mine at PitStop was loose but qucik down the straights and the Losi Strike was just loose and non of them worked very well IMO.

It safe to say right now for the first week or two we will run the trhee truck together to see how it pans out. That should be enough time to see how they perform together at Bumps so the more guys we get the better it will be.

Call Kent tommorrow when you get to the shop. He will come down for sure. He said he is available to paint and help out at the CW race if need be.

516 entries for the CW race in and thats in less than 2 days. In 20 minutes we had 170 people for the indoor pits alone. This is the largets race in the contry this year hands down. I don't think even Snowbirds this year will be as big.

We could go 600 plus if we had the room and wanted to race 24 hours around the clock which it will be close. I think I will just sleep at the shop that weekend.
