Does anyone know if Beckley and Lavallette require lipo batteries to be ROAR approved?

I'm assuming that you are talking about the short course truck class. Beckley does not require you to have Lipo although Lipo is welcome at our track. Honestly I'm not sure about the Huntington track though. I'm pretty sure they feel the same way about it.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, guess I should have been a little clearer. I am actually asking about 1/8th scale buggy, truggy, and monster truck.

As far as lipo being welcome, are all lipo's welcome or only ROAR approved lipos?

i hope they dont ''require'' certain batterys.

i plan on running 2wd and 4wd short corse, and 1/8 nitro truggy.

i have a couple cheap lipos, and a couple decent ones and deff aint spendin the dough they want for the top notch ones.

Parkersburg is getting ready to build an off road course. It will be designed for 1/10 scale but 1/8 scale will be running on it as well.

The track in Beckley is not an oval......and never will be. There is an oval in Clear Creek which is about 25 minutes outside of Beckley. They have pretty good turnouts if your into dirt oval. Just google clear creek rc speedway.

As for batteries we don't care what you run. We are not that picky. We have a competitive racing environment here but we also promote good times and the ability for everyone to race.

As for the Parkersburg track....is it the indoor track that is going back to offroad? Rick Bennett's track?

Ovrccc is building an outdoor off road track in Belpre in the near future.

On aside note, these drugs they are giving me rule. I just finished up my forth knee surgery and I'm waiting for them to send me home. Woohoo!!!

This is my forth knee surgery in the past 13 months so I am getting pretty good at it. The last one was less than two weeks ago.

Thanks, I discovered that you are redoing the track yesterday, drove 2 1/2 hours round trip to drive on it.

So, how about the rules for lipos in the 1/8 scale classes? Do they have to be ROAR approved? Also, how long are the mains?

Found my answer to the batteries on the tri-cities site.

Quote:
Batteries – 3S, 4S, 5S or 6S lipo. No MAH limit. Batteries must be in good physical shape no cut, damaged or swollen pack allowed. Hard cases not required.
Considering that hard cases aren't required that means that ROAR approved aren't required. That is awesome!
