True on the 3rd Sunday, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Paulie--did Tadashi show up???

I didn't see ANY of the on road local's there and more doubtful the drifters. It doesn't hurt to announce and get more people for an event. But I don't want to schedule around people who don't show, but also don't want to take anything away from Siro.

If we do a race in Feb, I think we should have the following:

3 classes (pick the three: 1/8 buggy gp/ep, 1/10 buggy 4wd, 1/10 2wd, MT, slash) if we have more we may not make it through as this is our first race and the timing system may slow us down...
6 solid people running the race, racing only one class (two in each class max).

We can wait until Memorial Day for a full weekend race for more...baby steps eh?

True, he didn't show up, but to his credit, I only gave him 3 days notice, and he is mostly an on-road shop. You are wrong though about the on-road locals. One of Tadashi's loyal customers was out there in force. I was racing him on the 1/10 scale track with 4wd buggies. He was very excited.

The thing is, all it takes is for a few people to get hooked, and then they tell all their friends, and next thing you know Siro has off-road stuff in stock. Best for all of us I'd think.

As for the full weekend of racing thing, I'd say have an open practice on Saturday, with qualifying towards the end, then race on Sunday. This way it gives the locals a chance to practice before they race (since SOFA folks will no doubt get a lot more practice since we can go there as we please).

Since everyone is putting in their 2 cents, I may have a dollar now.

Add mine to the pot.......The 4th weekend would be best in my opinion. When is X-hobby's races again? Saturdays should be a test and tune day with qualifying and mains ran on Sundays to start. Like Jon, I agree with taking baby steps. Once I get the deal worked out with the guy for the Ko Propo system we should not have many issues with the timing system. Until then, we are stuck using the AMB20 that we use for the Slash Bash. It works but we do need more working transponders.

Like Anthony, you know I got 2 cents.

4th w/e sounds good to me

I think looking at a two day event is a bad idea, this was not built as our personal race track, should we tie it up for an entire week end?

There is no reason we can't run an event in one day, if it turns out we have a large group, we can cut down to one qualifier. Only the large events in the states have practice days, the club races allow just an hour or so to tune-up before qualifying.

Did we set a rule that 1/10 cars can not run on the nitro track?

Remember the fiasco we had @ Bios, guys not able to run because their car didn't fit into a class.......we should not allow this to happen. If a guy shows up to race we figure out a way to let him race.....

I have more but need to get more change

All,

Any weekend is good for me, Sat or Sunday or both,

If I am here, I will be there, we just need to be able to plan so that we can get the word out and I can make sure we have open access to the base like this weekend for the locals.

as for track days, (non-Racing, I say we hold them whenever is convenient for the masses, and when we can get local participation.

The guys at R/C paradise were very, very happy today when we mentioned it, and could not wait...

Pics are done uploading now...enjoy

List of classes based on what we saw the other day.

1/8 buggy
1/8 truggy
Monster truck

1/10 4wd
1/10 2wd
1/10 2wd stadium trucks

short course/ Slash class

This list will cover just about everything that we will see. General rule if 3 cars sign up for the same class run them, if not move them up one class. Example: only 2 truggy's show up run them with the buggies. One guy shows up with 1/10 2wd, he can run with 4wd, I know it's not a fair race but it's better than sitting out.

Many races I ran my Revo's against Truggy's, got my butt whopped but managed to beat a few...........

No matter what we do on the first event, don't exclude anyone if it can be avoided.

Since I'm leaving for 2 weeks and have to wait anyway until my parts arrive to finish the Vorza, I figured I'd give ya'll a peek of it's transformation...

Let me know what you think...

All,

There is a long weekend this upcoming week, (16-19 Jan)

anyone up for a track day, get together, or is everyone still going to be recovering?

If interested, we can let the locals know and coordinate sponsors, etc to get them on base...

Rob
