All,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hard work, countless hours and endless patience in working the track over the past 10 months.

Today's event could not have gone any better, beautiful weather, incredible track conditions and an amazing turnout from Host Nation prticipants to those wanting to experience our hobby.

This would not have been possible at all without ALL of your support, from those that have been here from the humble beginnings to those that showed up for the first time today... you have all left your mark on something truly unique that has effected the lives of countless service members, their families, SOFA status personnel as well as HN enthusiasts.

The hard work was made worth while today as Men, women and children cheered, smiled and laughed until the sun set on a truly memorable day.

At the close of the day as I was leaving the sight, I was told that today was the most fun this person has had in years....

Thank you all again,

You have made my time here on Okinawa so worth while,

I can not thank you all enough.

Robert

I am beat,

besides a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders, it has been a long week,

I came home, ate and as soon as my butt hit the chair, I was out....

I will upload the pics later, there is around 150 of them, And as soon as I get the pics from OkiMar I will post them as well.

If anyone wants a CD of the pics let me know and I will burn you one...

Kanashii yo!
I really really wish I could have been there. Looks like it was alot of fun. I didn't see any 10 scale racers or crawlers out there. Was there a showing? I am sure there were about 15 Slashes.

Anyways, I am stopping by RC Champu in Akihabara, Tokyo this week. I don't think it makes up for missing the opening though. And next week I am stopping in the Tamiya HQ to see what it has to offer. I think it is mostly a museum or something. Japanese folks make a museum for everything. Today we went to the Anpanman Museum.

Can't wait to see more pics, maybe some monster trucks and some 10th scalers. Talk to ya'll later.

there were a lot of 1/10 buggies, both 2wd/4wd, I didn't get any pics tho.

As far as monster trucks, less than 10...truggies maybe 4 or five... I know Bojangles was tearing it up and congrats on the new driver!

I am still sore and my head hurts and my feets stink....

Like to thank Mike Groth for the tons of pics and helping out trying to get genny running.

Only bringing three cars next time, fusion, df-03 and baja5VW, ok maybe the mini losi's...but not the slashes..and maybe sell the e savage...anyone?

I'll be there sometime this week to pick up genny so I can get her running again.

Driving at Siro on Sunday (need those 23T's Paulie)

Paulie, it was OK to drive yesterday..Paulie...? Paulie?....WAKE UP!!!

think we need a new thread...anyone?

I have a couple updates for everyone. The SIRO Transponders do NOT pick up on the AMB20 decoder so we will have to get another system. The guy that has the KO Propo system finally got back with me today. $450 shipped. I am jumping on it. I'll let everyone know when we get everything worked out and the system is on the way.

Man, what a day! (just woke up)

Thanks to all that made this a reality. The turn out was superb, the weather was beautiful...couldn't have been better.

I finally broke down and drove the DB01 on the 10th scale track late in the afternoon and OMG!!! I ended up running evey Lipo I had with me!

I think I finally "get" this off-road thing. You have done the impossible...

Which is convert me to off-road. My passion will always be on road touring car racing, but off-road is now right there dead even with it.

Thank you for that everyone. I can't wait until our first race at the Hill.

Quick update fellas...

Since I won't run the Vorza until I get that diff shim, I figured I'd at least continue with the rest of the build, converting it ot "P-Spec", ha ha ha.

I basically took apart the entire car. The only thing besides the missing diff shim in the rear, and the absence of droop screws, is a faulty front diff case, and faulty bevel gear inside.

The little steel protrusion that's pressed into the diff case (where the bearing goes) is broken on my front diff. I took off the bearing, and that metal part came right into my hand. Thought maybe it was just pressed in to begin with, but it's clear that the edges of where it is supposed to sit are very rough, like it sheared off. That, and one of the big bevel gears has 3 chipped teeth.

So that's where I am right now. I'll finish the rest of the build, but it looks like I have to purchase parts to actually be able to drive it. Not too worried, as I'll be off to get eye surgery for the next two weeks. When I return, my parts will be waiting for me

Kinda stinks to discover this stuff in the first place, but I'm glad I took the car apart and put it back together. I was never a RTR kind of guy anyway. Now I know without a doubt, this will be one hell of a machine when it's finished.

I'll probably have a few pics up before the day is over.

Nope, never ran it yet. Hot Bodies/HPI has always been great to me. I know they'd sent those parts out to me for free, and since I won't be here for 2 weeks shipping time really won't matter, but, the phone call will literally cost more than the parts. Plus, it gives me an excuse to order more stuff to take advantage of online discount codes!
