Hey all, just got off the phone with a Chief from the SEABEES. He is planning on being over at the track site on Courtney Wednesday afternoon about 1400 to do a quick site survey.

He was asking the status of the request as he was placed on a hold to do any work. I know there was a cooling off period but had't that expired some time ago. Read back a few pages but looked like nothing new. Anyone with any updated info??? Shovel is still at the ready...

Jon,
I know it's a "slash" bash but what if I bought an AE SC10? You guys let me run it against the slashes?

Robert said that the cooling off period expired around 13 August and then work could begin.

No prob, we don't run classes (yet) but for basics the body should cover the wheels. You can run what ever motor you put in it (cept nitro) and battery. It'll probably be the first one anyone's seen here on island and probably after competing against EIGHT slashes, the LAST

Just got back from meeting with the Sea Bees up at the track site. They were not too concerned about the project, pretty much an easy day for them. Their plan is still to bring out a grater and clear the area following in with fill dirt. They will be able to lay out the basic track design but obviously will not be able to make it pretty.

They said they may be able to assist in the transport of the connex as long as we can get it loaded and unloaded. I also mentioned putting rails on top of the connex and a stairway up the side. Saw a little head shaking on that one but nothing to commit themselves to that part. The Lt kept mentioning that is was an unfunded project so I think they are a bit hesitant to commit to anything that requires additional materials.

Once they get the go ahead there will be a 12 day lag until they can begin the project, other than that they did not have any major concerns.

The only thing they are asking is to make sure we have someone there while they are working to guide in the layout of the track.

It seems as if the all players are lined up once again just waiting on the final go ahead.

We shall see...

I got the tools to do the railing on the conex, just need to get it up there and I'll cover the wood supply cost.

If they get a time line when they will be there, I will try to make it to watch (not really supervise) and give out some hints.

I'm so excited!!!

I've got a couple of MIG welders we can use to weld up some railings (or whatever). Might be able to pick up some relatively cheap metal from the scrap yard down by Kinser. I think they still sell stuff.

Any word from Enviro yet?
