SoCal always has a whoop section and its fun to go through. It always makes for an intersting change of evnets when the crowd goes through it. If you don't do it right, you're either swapping, or flipped over. Its a good test of a car's set up and a drivers timing. I like them, but not sure how Family's is.

Family's rythem section isn't really whoops. It's 6 bumps maybe 6" high and spaced out about a foot between them. They really slow you down if you dont have the right rythem. Luckily for me I found the rythem early in the day

What's the tire of choice these days for buggies; step pins, bow ties?

For Family Hobbies the tire of choice is Step Pins.

Call it what you want. Whoops, Bumps, What ever.

I hate them!

They swept parts of the track earlier... we could be using Holeshots... traction was high!

No. They don't let the monsters on the Family hobbies track for a few reasons. One is no nitro, electric only. Two, the dirt there is very easy to work with, meaning it's also very easy to rip apart. 1/10 cars tear up the dirt bad enough. Give a monster truck 5 minutes out there and the whole track has to be rebuilt. I've seen it on a few occasions already. Three, they're just too big. It's a very small tight track and putting 5 cars out there is tight enough let along MT's.

Yeah. I know the owner fairly well. I used to race in in parkinglot series in Corona. The track he's putting in is going to be a clay track. If you've never run on or worked with clay, it's not easy to work with. In turn, it's harder to tear it up. Track conditions stay fairly conistant with it. So his track can handle the extra weight. BUT, if you're wanting to run a nitro truck you'll be out of luck there too. It's an indoor off road so it's electric only.
