I talked to Scott this morning (Tuesday). He said he would try to get something going this Friday night.

I have been hearing that for 4 months. I am just about ready to put my off-road cars back on the shelves.

I know he has problems, but work them out!

I just cannot see how a business man can leave about 30 to 50 drivers times $12.00 usually cash out in the cold. Every Friday night.

I may be there, and may not. Don't really care. Looking forward to racing pan car on Saturday night at SoCal. I know there will be racing there.

I agree with you Sherman. So I just don't expect racing. I'm going there for practice. Something to keep a radio in my hands.

BTW, when I finally get a chance to make it up to So Cal again on a Saturday, I'll be running Pan Cars with you. Something new to try. Never run one before.

Numan was telling me Tuesday that I need to get a 2wd and start doing the offroad racing.

If Shane opens the carlsbad track like he's talking about I'll be there all the time though.

Especially if he's able to do both carpet and off road. That'll be my second home. It may end up my first if I'm not careful. Kristen may decide to boot me

Carlsbad Track?

What Carlsbad Track? Please tell me there is or going to be a track in Carlsbad. That is about 15 min from my house.

There is a thread in the Racing Forum about it.

If all goes on schedule, I'd be moving back to the SD area sometime this summer and we'd be targetting mid-late Fall as an open date for the track. The financing and whatnot has already been approved, we are working towards permitting now, as well as looking at candidate buildings. As posted in the other thread we were looking in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area, but it's all depending now on what we get from city hall; if they say no way then we have to look somewhere else. We're trying to get special permits to let us run the track with an on-site retail operation in an industrial/flex zone.

Default Family Hobbies Tonight

We finally held a mock race tonight! And it worked. It think there was one main thing we learned about the racing it's self. 5-6 cars MAX in a heat. We had five the first time and it was great and I think 7 in the second. But we did run full a race and next Friday is on! Every one try and be there by 5:30 if you can, we want to get signed up by 6:30 and start the racing by 7:00. Timing system is working great, the layout right now is pretty good. Surface is coming in very nicely too.

So everyone show up Friday so we can finally have a permanant RACE facility in San Diego again!

The address is:
Family Hobbies
9367 Mission Gorge Rd.
Santee, Ca. 92071
619-448-6847
Next to Rollerskate Land.

-Onsite hobby shop
-Restrooms
-Power
-Pit Tables
-Air compressor
-Tire wash area
-Food in the same parkinglot.

Classes will depend on who shows up with what.
Probably will have an Open Novice class (buggy and truck mix) then an Open Buggy and Open Truck to start.

Default Racing At Family Hobbies

Racing at Family Hobbies!

What!

My son and I were there last Friday night. No one told us there was racing, and there were only two other people there.

We did leave about 6:30.

Are you talking about last Friday night?
