Default Sunday 8/3/08 racing

The rain subsided, the track was in great shape and the turnout was good. Plenty of spectators asking how to get involved in the racing. We would like to thank those that came to run and once again, Victoria Cary showed the boys how it's done. We will have pictures and a video posted either later tonight or tomorrow. For those that have electric trucks and buggies collecting dust, clean them up, charge the batteries and come get involved. The next night of racing will be Wednesday and it is for electrics only. Next Sunday will once again be for both nitro & electric.

Default Layout and overhead pic

The past two Sundays have been great for both the weather and number of divers that are showing up. We have listened to what the drivers have said and we will keep this track layout for the balance of the season. Next year will will be expanding the track and will change the layout at that point. I have added a pic showing the track from the roof of the shop. This should give you a better look at it overall. Hope to see some more new faces this week.

Can't wait for the 09' season to start.I am sick of the snow already!!!

Looks like there will be a great start to the 4wd electric buggy class.
I know there will be some B44'S,Tamiya Durga's and Baldre's,Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk xb's and Losi's all ready to go. I think there some Kyosho Lazer's and Academy's that will be bought before the season starts.

It would also be great to see a increase in 1/10 nitro stadium , 2wd electric buggy and 1/8 electric buggy for this season.

Default changes for 09 season

The tracks center line will change from 418ft to about 500ft.The jumps will be a little bigger .The lane width will be a min.10ft all the way around. The track will become more of "drivers" track ,than a speed track. There will still be the one 100ft+ staight for the speed racers.

We will keep using the I-LAP counter ,it worked flawless last season. We may change computer programs .The Laps-Free program worked fine but is limited on features. As with last season there will be house transponders ,but we would like to see more racers buy there own transponsers($40).

race day :
Friday start 7pm -----ELECTRICS ONLY !
Sunday start 12 noon -----Electric and nitro

race fee $12 for the first entry
$10 for second entry
practice fee $5 practice anytime during shop hours

www.evolutionrcraceway.com
website will be updated with the new changes soon and i will post info as it becomes available.

Update:
We maybe running a point series .Just don't know if it will be broken up into two point series or point's for the whole summer racing season.Racer leave input on this thread if you want it to be broken up into 2 seperate or 1 point series for the whole summer racing season.

We also are looking into some changes for the driver stand .Like making it higher by another foot and some kind of roof or canopy over the top to help with shade on those hot summer days.

more updates to come as we get closer to racing ..END of APRIL weather
permitting!
later

Even though we have gotten nearly 24" of new snow in the last 2 weeks ,it is raining today .This should help to get rid of some of the snow.
We will try our best to get the track ready for April 17th ,weather permitting.
Looks like besides 4wd 1/10 elec buggy class ,that we may see more nitro too, truggies and monster trucks.Slash owners don't forget that we want to see more of you for the Slash spec class.

classes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Electric-
1/10 stadium stock
1/10 stadium mod
slash spec
1/10 4wd buggy stock
1/10 4wd buggy mod
1/8 buggy/truggy open

Nitro-
1/8 buggy
1/8 truggy
monster truck
slayer spec

other classes may be added if needed, such as a class for the new Traxxas 1/16 slash and slayer.

Due to still having some snow and time needed for the track to dry so we can get on it with a tractor to do the new track layout .The start date for the season will be the first week in May(1st and 3rd) instead of the third week in April.
Please check track website for more updates.

Big rule change for the stock class --you can now run ROAR approved 17.5 brushless and ROAR approved 7.4v lipo.

Work on the track started today. This year it will be more of a "drivers" track, not just who is the fastest.
Will post new picture's this week when more work is done.
Still looking at May 1st and 3rd for the official start of the race season.
There was some drivers fooling aorund on the track today ,just because they couldn't wait until the track was done.

We also want input on runnung the ROAR rules for short course trucks (slashes,sc10 etc.) over a slash "spec" class.

Thanks

Default We are ready to race !!

The track is all set to go and will be open for racing on Friday May 1st at 4:30 pm. Friday night racing is for electrics only and nitro and electrics will both start racing on Sunday May 3rd. On Sunday the track will open at 11:00am to allow for you to get set up for the new layout. You must REGISTER first before your vehicle goes on the track. We have made a few adjustments from the original plan as it was a little to tight for some vehicles. We will post pictures in the next day or so. Please call us if you need any other information.

Default First night of racing

We had 13 drivers show up for the first night. Not a bad turnout for a cloudy day with threatening showers. Sunday should be a much better day for both electric & nitro. Everyone seems to like the new layout and our double dees. table top and jump are taking a little to get used to. Minor damage to several vehicles and most are already repaired. Hope to see everyone on Sunday.

Default 2009 track layout

We had 21 drivers show up for the first Sunday race day and they all seemed to have fun. They pointed out one minor problem area and that will be taken care of by the next race day. The pics show the track from 4 different angles. We hope to see more new drivers in the following weeks. I would recommend bringing bug spray as the black flies are out in force. See you this weekend.
