Once you get a 2 cell and a brushless in that thing (and quit catching stock motors on fire ) we can have some good battles without me backing off down the straight. That was a lot of fun swapping back and forth today. Can't wait for the next one.

Jaws- good to meet you too.

Lamar- Thanks for filming that last run. If you want to Email that clip to me you can send it to [email protected].
Jon, wow you had fun today. Your car was really good. I can't even believe that $200 will get us the battle we had. PS. I love having my car catch on fire. I'll get it all worked out. Glad you were able ti make it.

Well what a great day at the track. The layout was designed be the one and only Patrick See. Started out as a fast track but quickly became a pretty technical layout. Thanks for the work. Also thanks to Jaws for the set-up help.

We ran 2 practice qualifiers and worked out the race program settings. Everything seems to work very well. The track had really good grip in the morning and started to fade around lunch. After a quick spray, traction was as good as new. Once the clouds covered the track the traction went through the roof.

There will be some major changes for next time. I also will be running a full (practice) race program on the 23rd. More details to come.

Had an excellent time today. Grip was great and racing was fun. This layout is worthy of duplication... I would love to run that layout again.

Jon, your video is ready. I will e-mail the link as requested.

Jon and Ray are fast with the 18Rs. Don't let this run from Jon fool you.

I'm very happy to announce that the next practice race day will be Saturday the 23rd. The track will be open at 10:00am. Practice racing will start at 1:00pm. We will run a full program. After this past practice day we are making progress and now I need to set some rules. These rules will have some changes but this is what I have so far.

Track Rules:
1. Have fun.

2. Be respectful.
3. Use staging lane.
4. No driving in the pits.
5. Pick up your trash when you leave.
6. Smoking only allowed in Smoking area and trashcans must be used.
7. Try to keep from walking on the racing line unless marshaling a car.
8. No Drinking or Drugs.
9. If you damage the track during practice, make sure it gets fixed.

Racing Rules:
1. Do you turn marshaling.
2. Return handout transponders.
3. Let Faster drivers go (During practice and racing).
4. Be ready to race when your race is up (1 min. grace only in mains).
5. No stopping on the straight.
6. If your car is stuck/stopped on the track for any reason, call it out to let the other drivers know.
7. No going the wrong direction on the track.
8. No using reverse at any time.

This is a first and FINAL warning for Slash drivers. Yesterday there were some really bad decisions made by the Slash drivers.
1. Your car needs to be clean before you put it on the track.
2. The Road Rails are not jumps.
3. You must be respectful of other cars on the track.
If any of these rules are not followed the person will be warned and then evicted. This is not a place to bash your car. This is a race track. If these problems persist then I will not let Off-road cars on the tack. Yesterday there were 5 boards and 3 dots broken because of a few drivers. No exceptions will be made.

Other than that, lets race.

Unless it's for position during a heads up race.

I think not damaging the track and keeping the racing lines clean are key. We all want traction. This is an asphalt race track after all. Ray spends hours washing the surface of the track to get all the dirt he can off. Then spraying it with soda to create more grip. The last thing we want to do is put dirt back on from the dirty tires and or chassis of an off road car/truck. This is the best asphalt racing surface we've had in San Diego in years. Lets keep it that way.

Well after running the 18R on a track with, well, lets just say less than ideal traction, I can't wait to get out this Saturday and race on a clean higher grip surface. Just gotta figure out a place to put my transponder and I'll be set.

It will be nice to race with you again. If you are interested in running on-road and don't want to spend too much money the 1/18 is a great class. plenty of good drivers and the car seems to work best stock.

Thumbs up Great Time

Ray, Great setup. I had a great time running my Slash on the on-road track. Lots of fun running with the other Slash trucks, need some work on my on-road setup and driving style. Can't wait to actually race. You have a good thing going there, well set up, things run fast and smooth and a great group of people, 1st Class.... Looking forward to running again soon.
