Default New Track in San Diego

I will be Opening a Track in San Diego soon it will be in miramar so its centraly located track will be well maintainedand will be quite technical.

located in a 26000 square foot warehouse approx. 190ft x 55ft
track will be R.O.A.R. and I.F.M.A.R. sanctioned.

we will be running gas and electric 1/18th - 1/8th scale offroad classes
i am working on some renderings of what the track will look like.
for reference the track will be 10 feet wide accept in a few selected areas ie: far away straights that will be
at 15feet for driving ease

i will post them here for your viewing pleasure.

we estimate the opening date to be on or near the 1st of April

post replies if you are interested. also i may be looking for people to help run and maintain the track also will need an announcer.

Really............talk about coming in under the radar Plans look great. Hope this works out, San Diego needs a good central place to race....and indoors is MAJOR bonus. What rain? Although, not looking forward to being in there while the nitros are running. Hope its got real good ventilation). Keep us updated. Thats an easy trek for me from Temecula on my way to my parents house in Santee And a short one from Escondido where I work. Hopefully see some Sunday racing action. Are you going to have an onsite hobby shop as well?

Hopefully not an April Fools joke seeing as how the opening is projected for April 1st!

I'm not much of an on-roader, but that would be pretty nice. The only problem is that he said they want to run 1/8 gas, and a 95 ft straight would be kinda short for those big cars.

On the other hand, it could be a better way to go with on-road/off-road. There is a new 1/8 track opening in Temecula, and the already existing track in Barona. There are no permanent on-road tracks in SD. Could be a better way to go. And besides, nitro indoor sucks. Make it all electric and I think it will be better. I think you'll be able to have more "crossover" guys that already run either on or off road that have the equipment to be able to run the other if they choose. I do want to run on-road sometime (I have a car) so this would be perfect.

What do you mean? It would be the same amount of space...the track is 190x55 now. It would be two tracks end to end at 95x55.

Wow- just talking to some friends about wishing there was a local off road electric track... Hope this actually happens

Where's the driver stand? Up stairs? Will need to be pretty high to see such a long track.

Any plans for on-road, maybe in the parking lot?

Uh, I hope this is no joke. 1/8th scale off road is off the hook and should draw a lot of racers out of the wood works in SD. Should also convert some more on-road and electric off roaders to 1/8th scale. They also make electric conversion's for 1/8th scale. I've seen a few of them run and are pretty impressive. The planned track size is good. Any smaller and it would suck for most. Track design could be modular, as in changed to a smaller center section for electric racers
