Default Indoor/Outdoor Offroad Tracks in the IN OH KY Tristate Region

Will be moving to Madison IN, in February and just doing alittle research on both indoor and outdoor offroad tracks in the region. I mostly race 2wd Truck (mod/stock) and 2wd Buggy (mod/stock), but would be interested in running pretty much anything but Oval (dirt or carpet).

Would not mind Touring Car racing, but would need to have 13.5 and lipo be legal, which i run lipo and brushless in my T4 and my B4, hard-case orion packs.

Looking for tracks around 100 miles from Madison, preferably much less.

Hoosier Hobbies Raceway in Linton, IN which is ~110 miles away (2hrs) Sunday 1pm
Planet RC Raceway in Lawrence, In which is ~110 miles away (2hrs) Saturday 6pm

I am used to traveling about 75 miles (1.5hrs) every weekend to race offroad, so this isn't too bad.

wondering if there is anything else in Cincinnati OH or Louisville KY because Madison is about in the middle of these two.

I was going to say P&T hobbies in Mitchell, IN but they don't allow Lipo and for the brushless, you would have to run the 2wd open class. Their main focus is indoor. they do have an outdoor track, but only run it maybe 4-6times/year. Alot of Kentucky guys used to show up, not sure if they still do or not since I am just getting back into the hobby.

Be kinda nice to see a different winner on the open class. I have no problems with the young man, he has been racing since he was 6-7yrs old and flat out dominates the track. He usually wins by at least 1-2 laps. Usually 3-4 laps. his father sets up the vehicle, and he drives it. I think he is about 16 or 17 now.

If you ever get any info on Hoosier Hobbies in Linton, please let me know. I am wanting to check out their Carpet and maybe get into carpet racing. I have attempted to contact them with no luck.

do they run indoor year-round? and open is fine with me, i have two 13.5s, a 7.5 and a 6.5. do they race open buggy and open truck? looked at their site and it really didn't clear much up, do they have postings anywhere else?

During the fall and winter is every weekend. During the late spring into summer it slows down somewhat. Depending on turn out. In summers past sometimes it would slow as much as racing every other weekend. I have noticed that they don't keep their site updated as much as I would like.

The off road is the main thing there. And the majority is in fact indoor. They have the building setup now to where they can run Nitro inside, but that is usually every other weekend. Due to Christmas there isn't any racing this coming Saturday.

If you would like, I will take some pics on January 5th.

During the the fall and winter when oval is racing the off road track is rather small to some people, but when oval fades away during the spring/summer months they use the whole track.

As far as the classes go, Yes, they have buggy and truck open classes. If you run 4wd, they have a 4wd open class also.

But if you race there, you will have to go back to the nimh packs. As Paul doesn't even allow LiPo in the building.

got your pm also...thanks

big thing is if there is no lipo there will be no me....lipo is now alot safer, even crcrc is allowing it in their mod classes, and even have a 20 minute pro-truck (outlaw) class at the champs for '08
