Talked to Dan yesterday. The dirt has to be "broken up" first because it is basically dried up 100% clay. At the least, it is supposed to be broken up and transported to the track this week. It might be next week before it is mixed in and a new track is built. I will post if I hear anything else.

Teeforb,
You can count on ARC racing every Saturday. Any track changes or updates, new dirt, etc will happen during the week.

Well.....almost all "well known" tracks are mostly clay. This is proven to be the best surface for consistency. It packs well and holds moisture better than what is currently at ARC. The biggest benefit is that clay holds together and won't develop the ruts and holes nearly as bad as it is now. Dan and crew do an excellent job grooming and maintaining the track only to see it literally deteriorate within minutes. Take a look at the track after all of the mains are done and you will see the need for clay that will hold together.

I watched your car last night & it flew really well, downsided the table top almost every time without riding the wall in turn one.How are the run times with your setup?

I didnt get to race last night,I was pit beotch for some friends but will be out with the TEKNO mugen conversion(truggy)next week.

Its nice to see all the electrics showing up lately,it makes pit lane much less crowded.I think their gonna need to designate some one to pick up all the conversions for pitting pretty soon.It cost a couple guys to just come in for pit & hope somebody put them on the wall.

My setup was pretty cool. First time out with electric and the MBX6 last night. I have a MMM V3, Neu 1512 1.5Y, and zippy 5s 3300 and 4000 Lipo packs. I can easily get 10+ minutes with the 3300 packs. AVG about 190-200 mah/min. I think that's pretty efficient. I was consuming about 60% of the battery running 10+ minutes. 0.6*3300/10 = 198mah/min. This calculation was on par with how much MAH i put in to charging to full capacity. I still have some testing to do with the 4K pack. I am thinking of going 2.3K pack for 5 min quals only. Note, I am running a separate receiver pack and fan for the motor. My temps are about 125, 109, 106 for the motor, MMM, and lipo pack respectively. My top end was on par with about the fastest Nitro out there. Bottom end was plenty!!! I absolutely loved my setup. I just need to fine tune the MBX6 a little more. Well, for now since ARC will go to Clay and the track will be smoother and more consistant, i will stick with my same setup for the MBX6. The track conditions from yesterday, i think my buggy would have worked better if I had lighter shock oil.

They had clay on top/mixed in when they opened the track in july.Track would hold together all night with almost no maint & then still be good till the end of wed practice night & still be in the condition it is after the second heat last night & almost zero tire wear. The only problem is when the track is changed enough times the normal ground soil comes up & thins out the good stuff too much, knowing this people still want new tracks often. The original track was awsome but very hard/dangerous to marshal. It was super flowing, big jumps & high average speed with several technical sections. People started to cry that it was too hard for sportsman drivers & that they were braeking cars too much. Actually it was only 2-3 people crying but they were persitant & loud & thats why we have the jerky, cut & thrust lower average speed tracks with small jumps ever since. Their also easier to maintain. From what dan says more clay will come in this time than the first time & that should help a lot. Maybe we can go back to to the style of tracks many of us like(flowing) if the dirt holds up better & requires less work.

Either way its a fun place with good people, semi close to home & good to have you racing out there now too.

teeforb...what did you use to make the conversion on the mbx6...tekno?. I would like to talk with you about the conversion. All my nitro stuff was stolen this week and this could be a good time to take the plunge into electric. I have believed for two years that electric will take over, It is happeneng but slower then I thought.

I had a new mbx6 with a speed that was working great so I am still thinking mbx6 for electric. What is up with the zippy's? Never heard of them.

How can I get ahold of you...I am an ARC racer (split between arc and rev)
