Anyway, I took some shots of the layout. Room around the generator looks finished and saw a track light on the roof. The tire and body wash station is in but not hooked up yet. Looks like more tables are up.

Enjoy!!!
Nope, I drove by in a black Lexus LS400.

I couldn't make it to the the track today. My wife had to have surgery and I been at the hospital since 6 am. I just now got home to get my kids ready for school tomorrow.

Anyway I hope to try to get by the track sometime this weekend to see if they can use any help.

Small update......... Went by the track and hung out with Dan for a bit. He is shooting for an opening around July 4th. The track wont be to full completion but it will be in working order. He just needs to get it open to start bringing in some $$. Pit tables are almost finished......he was working on getting the AMB and computer stuff hooked up today when I was there. A bobcat was supposed to be there tonight and he was hoping to do the track this weekend. I have a race this weekend otherwise I would go over and see if any track work is in progress (and offer some help).

Some side notes............

For now races will probably held during daylight..........he has one brand new high zoot bitchin' light on top of the stand......he needs more (he figures 9 or 10 for proper lighting) at $400 a pop. Sooo, daylight races for now probably.

Right now there is no concrete under the pit tables. That will change.......later. Time and $$$. Need to get the track operational, need revenue, and NEED TO RACE!!!

Still going to do covered pits eventually as well, but for now...bring an EZ up

We were discussing "membership programs" and "racer incentives" to make things more interesting, fun and exciting. Stay tuned.

Race fees will be in the range of $18 to $20 (but it will be worth it). He wants to try and keep it at $18. The race fee at the old track was $15, but at that rate, it wont pay the bills.

For those that have been there, you know the entrance road is dirt......that will change as well.

There are proabably 6-8 (6 for sure) water valves around the track with 50 foot hoses on each and plenty of water pressure too.

Dan is super excited about getting the place operational. Hopefully, everyone will show their support and come out to race regularly. I know I will!

Default hemet

im not hatin on hemet, nor givin it crap. I understand about the money issue to keep up, though i wonder why cant they get little sponsors? not just from the RC related factories, like perhaps local stores in hemet? or possible run some sort of fun races that brings in some? it seems like theyre not open often enough to bring in, also im sure the new comers feel a little bad idea to go and play there since the area seems bad. that is what i was told by a few new people whos into rc, they feel unsafe there.

About the bobcat thing, who? me? if it was me, he never called in.. I have been working on friends track in Valley Center, we just finished build the drivers stand, and I am bring more dirt to that track today to build more jumps, the track is already layed out. i ve been using shovel, wheelbarrow, and packer by arms.

I saw Dan yesterday as well and he just got the computer system up and running , now he is just waiting to get the track layout done. He wants to open before the 4th of July, he will need all the help he can get. He also said if you can help great but if you cant then say you cant, he would rather get a NO from someone than a yes and then they dont show up. Anyhow the track is looking great and looking forward to helping Dan to get it finished so we all can have a great time.

Sherman, there is no set schedule yet. I would imagine it would be similar to whatever the schedule was at the old track though. As soon as some info is available, it'll get posted here!

At the old track, Dan ran a few days of practice throughout the week. Something like wed-thur-fri. Saturday was racing. Maybe he could do two race days, like Wed night and Sat night?

And yes this is for the Temecula race track... Not for the other tracks that have been advertised here in the Temecula thread.
