Coventry is about 18 miles from where I am and I might build a track in my backyard, going to take measurements this weekend for available space. I don't have nitros anymore. I'm just getting back into the hobby and have been focusing mainly on all of the new electric technology (brushless, lipos), but I'll race with the nitros, these brushless motors w/ lipos are fast!
By the way I have a RC18T converted to 18R, B44, T4 and the new E-maxx just for fun and totally stock (not so fast).
If anyone in Eastern CT is interested in meeting up and bashing in a parking lot or whatever let me know.

i just googled woolcot and enfield and woolcot is 1hour and 4 min and enfield is 1 hour and 23 min(????) which i dont understand because its further away and more miles lol

I'm thinking about racing at RC madness this coming Friday with my RC10T4. Has anyone raced here? How are the people? pretty laid back I hope because I don't know much about organized RC racing.

RCE is a 1.5 hour drive ( 100 miles ) , Madness is 1.75 hours( 125 miles) and Wolcott is 2.5 hours for me. There used to be 3 tracks within 25 minutes of my house, now there's nothing.
AT- if you race at Madness on Fridays, it's on a carpet track, if you didn't already know. And, foam tires only. RCE has offoad racing Thursday and Sundays, and has a top notch facility.

I think I will head there this Friday, I'll have to pick up some foam tires when I get there as I only have some worn down road hawg tires. Also, I'm looking at picking up a LRP competition speed control and 13.5 novak brushless so I can race stock. I currently only have a Mamba 5700 and I'm sure I will just get in the way of the open/modified classes since I've never driven on a track. I've been looking at trying sensored brushless anyways since I've heard it's better (and legal) for racing.
Where is RCE raceway? I haven't heard of that one yet.

friday night racing at madness is great fun. Bring your 18th scale too if you have one. Yes, it is laid back racing and the people are very nice. The shop has a ton of parts and they are always willing to help out. They will actually take apart kits to get you a part!

I have a 18T that I just converted to an 18R, not sure what type of 18th scale racing they do. Also, do you know what classes they have? If they have a stock class what is the brushless limit on that class? Thanks for the info.

They have a rally car 18r class. For club racing I believe it is pretty much run what you bring for the class. The 18r's a ton of fun to watch...I wish I had one.

The type of 18th scale racing is indoor on carpet with off road style jumps.
Classes off the top of my head for club racing:
1. 18t, 18mt, m18t truggy
2. 10th scale st with foams
3. Buggy class - 18b, m18b, detta
4. Monster truck - vendetta st, mlst etc
5. Rally Class - 18r's
You can run foams or rubber tires for the 1/18th scale.

Running my 18R as a rally car sounds awesome, I'm not sure how good of a driver I am when racing since I never have but I think I'm gonna have to bring my 18R too, I can't wait to give racing a try.
Also, my T4 has a Mamba max, but I want to run stock, what sensored brushless system is most popular there, LRP or Novak? Is a 13.5 or 10.5 the stock motor at RC Madness.
I'll have to let people know on here who I am so that they'll know who the rookie is on the track, or you can just watch for the guy breaking A-arms like it's his business

don't worry...there are all levels racing and everyone is cool. I am not sure about what people run in the st's, but I would imagine prolly novak and lrp are popular for brushless. I don't think they break the class down according to motor, so run what you want. You can also come early and practice because I have been there around 5 and the track is already set up for racing. It is a good time to get some extra laps in. They start racing at 7:00pm

Sounds good, I'm looking forward to it. I'll be the guy with the T4 that still has the RTR body on it and an 18R that may or may not be painted yet
I want to try and get there as early as possible so that I can practice and get some pointers, if I can get out of work around 4 I should be up there around 5, weather permitting.
