The fact that it's a nitro car with provisions for electric components......is that going to stop you from getting one?

Default Nice Pics

OSR...Its nice to see some old pics of what the Altoona Raceway looked like back then.I believe that the one pic is what we plan to do as soon as the
weather clears(taking it back down to grade).

CR...thanks for letting me know about the suspension tip,I usually just leave the tires off the car (but leave the shocks on) and put the car on a stand.

I had one, for a brief period of time. My father got a great deal on one. He fought with my mother regarding me being allowed to drive it by myself. After three or four weeks, she agreed.

We went to the old city cop pistol range in East Juniata. My father told me to stay up on the flat and stay away from the downhill road to the right. Of course, I headed straight for the downhill. Trike hit a ditch, launched straight into the air. I went into the ditch and three wheeler landed directly on top of me. If it weren't for the ditch, someone else would own the Altoona Raceway now. Never rode a three wheeler again and our's went up for sale.

Good times !!

That is a very nice looking machine. I hope you ride it every chance you get and not just leave it sit in the garage. They are a blast to ride.

Default snow sucks!

We have a salvage yard with 1200 cars in it. Yesterday we sold a wheel off of a Saturn L sdn. It's to be delivered to Philipsburg today, but I can't remember exactly where the car is at in our yard. I looked twice yesterday and didn't find it. The snow is so deep that I have to shovel between the cars just to see what color they are.

Note to all Racers: The number at our business is 814-635-2774. Call it anytime mon - friday and I , my dad, or my brother will be glad to help you.
BUT!!!!! PLEASE DON'T ASK ME FOR CAR PARTS WHEN I'M AT THE TRACK!!!!!
I honestly have stopped going places that I used to enjoy because I get asked if I have this or can I get that etc...
This might seem like the wrong way to grow a business in some peoples opinion. But ours is a family run business that has grown almost beyond our capabilities. Cash and carry is less than 10% of our business. We deal with insurance companies and body shops that are on strict schedules and we have to have their orders ready, correct and delivered on time. Which leaves next to no time for the walk-in customer. It's not the way we want it to be ,but in order to make a decent living it's the way it has to be.
Your understanding will be greatly appreciated

I am picking up a bunch of lumber for the handicap ramp on wednesday. Compliments of Lowe's of Altoona.

I am paying for the utility pole today, and it will be delivered by the weekend. I have all the panel box stuff to put on the pole. So we WILL have electricity this year.

Ideally, I would love to work on some things at the track this weekend. And I still might. It will really be decided by how much more snow we get today and tomorrow.

Check here for updates on whether we will be able to get anything done. Maybe I can get Brad to go over and breath on the track, that is sure to melt the snow.

Default Snow story

I love snow!!! I couldn't even get out of my house until Sunday afternoon. I went outside to shovel snow on Saturday and my snow shovel was missing! My son (6) got off the bus Friday from school and we had a little snow. He likes to play with the snow shovel and did so without telling me. So after my tantrum I waded through the 3' to 4' drifts around my house dragging my feet hoping to kick the shovel. After 15 minutes and being exhausted (it's tough walking through that crap!) I decided to call it quits. I found a small flat shovel but it took forever just clear my sidewalk. The company I work for plowed me out and then I went shopping for a shovel. For some strange reason there seems to be a snow shovel shortage

I have yet to find a damn snow shovel at a store but have borrowed one.
