Your going to have to do some research around the forum! Its a Sensorless motor which means a completley different gear than what we're accustomed to! It also might be tooooooo much motor for a 2wd vehicle on dirt. The Sensorless motors are dead out of the hole then like a light switch because of their extremley high RPM's!

I think Ed tried to run the Castle 4400KV Sensorless motor in his 4wd(?) buggy and took it out because it was to much for the car and the track.

If you have not purchased it yet I'd look at getting something with a Sensored design maybe in the 6.5-8.5 range that would be more "controlable" for the track. Maybe one of these:http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...less-Motor-65T

Or if your set on going with the Losi brand:http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...otor-Combo-35T this is a SENSORED set-up.

Just stumbled onto this simply by typing in SENSORED VS. SENSORLESS in the search field:sensored vs sensorless brushless

Default gearing

Yeah, that is the one I bought.I appreciate the refrence brad, but being that I already bought this (just came today), I will have to try to find a gearing that will work for me.My buggy came with 86,83,80,78,76,and 74 spur gears and I got 23 and 19 tooth pinion gears, trying to find something that will work with these.Thank You!

6500kv gearing 1/10 buggy:

Jim, I have a guide from Castle that recommends 17-21t pinions on stadium trucks when using a 6900kv motor. Since buggies have smaller wheels and the 6500 is a little less powerfull, I would think that any pinion between 18-22 would work well in a 1/10 buggy. I would start with the 19t and go up or down from there depending on how the motor felt.

I have found that sensorless motor systems are not as sensitive to gearing because they have a lot more power but what they lack is drivabiltiy. I spent a lot of time programming my Mamba Max and got it close, but, couldnt get it to feel as good as a sensored system. No matter what I did, the throttle seems to lag (no sensor) and then came on too strong exactly when I didnt want it to.

Yeah,I see what you are saying. The system I got was a Xcelorin 6400 sensorless system. The motor is plenty power but the take off is very hesitant.I have yet to study the program software.

Default Problem solved

Ed,I found out the problem to my motor I was having. The slipper clutch plate was not pushed all the way in (my fault ),so the spur gear was just spinning on the gear shaft coming out of the tranny case. The car would just start to roll at full throttle but would gain momentum after a few seconds. The gear was spinning frealy.I plugged in the software to my labtop but it says that I dont have enough power to support my USB cord.I guess I will have to try a regular table top pc.I do have the programming card with 3 files on it,but it would be nice to set my own stuff.Thank you for all the help Ed and Brad. That link you gave me discribed sensorless and sensored motors to a T.A lot of help.

Have any of you experimented with thick grease or silicone grease in the slash's gear diffs? I have some 30K weight silicone grease that I used to put in my Tamiya TT01 diffs.
