Hey all - I was heading out for your race today, but the weather looks a little bit sketchy for a 2 hour drive. I'm going to put it on hold, but will definitely be out in the next few weeks on a weekend the weather looks better. Sorry I couldn't contribute to the electric turnout this weekend. Let me know a weekend everyone is planning on running electric - I can do 2wd, 4wd, or Truck - let me know.

Track needs a little work, but is raceable. If we get anymore rain though I think well loose the battle.

Chris, good to hear that. We'll be looking forward to seeing you in the upcoming weeks. I'll keep you posted!

Considering the weather conditions, i think how the race day was handeled, was superb second to none. All the racers seemed pleased, well except for "crab legs" Blontz, he seems to think hes at the grand buffet, and not the race track! My truck was really hooked up the 2nd heat, i wish we could have finished, but the rain got us!!! I cant wait to get in a full day, Altoona is back!!!!

Also great to see some of the racers that "strayed away" make a return to the track, hope we continue to get more!!!

Guys keep me posted on the upcoming races. I wouldn't mind coming up for some summer time offroad. I can't commit to anything right know but I will check on here often to see when the races are. My buddy and I have been super busy this year with the PANitroTour we have 4 races down with one to go and our average turnout this year is 192 entries per race.. Like I said BUSY.

Default RESULTS 8/2/09

Given the amount of rain we have had over the last 4-5 days I think Rob & the crew did a great job working on the track just to get some qualifying in today.

Unfortunately, the rain last night pushed back the start and a major downpour at 5 pm ended the day early.

Cudos for Brad for figuring out how to set up the races on the computer. AMB has possibly the most un-intuitive software system I have ever seen!

It was nice to have hot dogs and cold drinks for sale at the track.

Due to the weather, we couldnt run the mains, so the results are based upon the qualifiers:

1/8 Buggy
1 Tom Stober 14 6:183
2 CR Lovell 14 6:185
3 Brad Blontz 13 6:08
4 Ed Toth 13 6:09
5 M McMullen 10 6:04
6 G Gormont 10 6:09
7 M Dzaibo 7 3:50

Slash
1 JD Blair 11 6:09
2 N Snair 11 6:28
3 B Benedict 11 6:31
4 B Daugherty 10: 6:07
5 McMullen 10 6:38

Default First Race

First off, I would like to thank everyone for showing up. Weather got us but we got some racing in. The turn out was wonderful considering.

Thanks go out to Brent for the use of the gen. Thanks go out to all the cash winners that donated their winnings back to the track. Thanks to all the people that enjoyed the food. Still can't seem to figure out who is going to pay for the "Crab legs and Porterhouse" that Mr. Blontz is requesting. But considering he got the software to cooperate, he may get one crab leg and a pack of beef tips.

It was nice to meet CR, Nathen, Tyler, Greg and everyone else I met for the first time.
Poor Tyler tried so hard to race, but we will get him ready for a race one way or the other.

Sid was a great help today. Thank you. Of course my buddy John and his wife for tending the food. Thank you.

Hopefully everyone was happy, and will return. Please let everyone you know in the hobby to come check us out. Computer system will be down pat next race. Thank you for the patience. House transponders worked well.

Finally, congrats to all winners today. You're all winners to me. Thank you for making Opening Day great and such a pretty easy transistion.
