I run at Socal and am aiming to make it out to race with you guys this week, my question is what kind of tires are a good place to start?? I run sorex 36's at Socal (like just about everyone) but have been told they don't work so well on parking lots. I assume that slicks are still the way to go. Any help appreciated.

Sorex 36s work well when it's hot. I've had good success with the takeoff 27s and 32s

Sorex 36R's work well with Yokomo Medium inserts.

Well, I went, practiced and was unable to conquer even 1 darn lap of qualifier Saturday. It really was frustrating but I laugh over it now. Yes, I am the guy who's new OS motor was stubborn to start and wouldn't let off the fail safe to even line up. Poor me, oh well, guess the electric 1/10th scale car and Mini-Z got a break. That really wasn't any type of beginner class...having to make everything mixed and all.

Anyway, nice to see all the familiar faces from the old Showtime track. Maybe the next Saturday race at Citrus will be a bit more eventful. hehe

Default Tires for Citrus

Guys;

My Tire of choice for Nitro has ALWAYS been Sorex 36R's. 32's and 28's do not seem to have as much grip even in cool weather.

This last Saturday I Tried Sorex 28R's on my Electric which were Hooked Up at LM, but they wouldn't bite at Citrus. Take-Off CS27's were the Ticket, stuck like glue.
