Almost forgot to ask... Is PRS the only company making pinions bigger than 47T? I gotta buy 48-51 and they're outta stock right now.

Yeah. Sorry that I forgot to give it back to you in the rush to get packed up at the end of the day. If I can't find a place that has one in stock, I might have to ask to use it again on Sunday. lol

The highest Dot had was 47. I just ordered a 48 & 49 from PRS for the TC5 along with an 84T spur for my 12th scale. Hopefully they'll get here before the weekend.

Theo; My rollout was 51.60mm (88T spur, 49T pinion, 2:1 internal ratio, 59mm diameter tires) but that was with a Novak 17.5. The motor came off at around 130* after the 6 minute A-main, so I think I've just about reached my ceiling when it comes to gearing.

I think there were five 18R's and Bill & Edie had their Mini Coopers in the mix with them too.

I'm trying to decide whether my next car is going to be an 18R or a Mini-Z. EDIT: Or maybe even one of those cool lookin' F1 cars.

Thanks Tim,
I appreciate the info. I got alot of tweaking to do.....and never enough time or practice.

Not for nothing, but I still think the 19T guys have a slight advantage over the 17.5 brushless. Let me just give this example; On Sunday, I had my 17.5 geared as high as it can be without thermalling towards the end of a 6 minute race. Jamie's car was just about the exact same speed as mine down the long backstretch, but he also said after the race that he was 2 teeth undergeared. If he had his gearing perfect, he would have driven around me anywhere on the course like I was standing still, which is pretty much what Gunner was able to do.

Not trying to stir the pot here, or make anyone spend extra money on a B/L system, but I think the only way to be completely fair to everyone who races there is to decide what we're gonna run and then make no exceptions. Be it 19T brushed, 17.5 brushless, 27T brushed, or whatever. That's just my $.02
