Finally, so ALL know, the expert Gas A-Mains will be 15 minutes from here forth, and 20min and the Challenge race as listed in the rules.
Just a thought.

8min is a motor and battery killer even in stock. The guys that ran the JP Nationals ran 23T motors for 8 min and experienced a 25% reduction in battery performance after the first run. 23T vs 27T is a different wind but my early guess is without gearing changes and brush work, some of the racers will torch their rides.

What is your thought behind running this type of longer class? If it is track time, why not just go to 3 quals and a main?

I am game for whatever is decided.

Default Just Talk

Me and Roundy were talking about the shift toward 19T and how to keep stock interesting. If 8 minutes is going to create a problem, we'll stick with 5 minutes, I just wanted to know what you racers thought... 3 quals won't work now that the sun is setting sooner, remind me next summer!
Also I picked up a scale, so you'll be able to weigh your cars on Sunday!

19 turn rules!!!!
I can't think of any way to keep stock interesting? Throw em away and run a 19 turn. Same amount of maintenance if not less, very little if any price difference in the motors, and they're faster. I only have one stock motor and it's not exactly legal. Leave the stock motors to the novice racers. Especially on a track the size of yours. 19 turn is even almost too slow for that track.

Some of us LIKE racing Stock. If you want to go faster, race Nitro.

I like going fast on the whole track, not just the straights

Default Dont Worry Stock Guys!

Chris is not changing the entire track size, what you saw last week will still be there this week, he is just adding a longer straight for the Nitro guys and a turn off for us electric stock racers. This should attract more Nitro entries and from what I hear from others the longer main events in Nitro are what they asked for.

Chris has built some awsome turn dots...wait till you guys see the new track!

Electric Main times will most likely stay the same. Dawson is correct when he says its harder on the motors and batts to run any longer, that is unless your running TEAM SCREAM CELLS...hint hint.

As far as 19T.....I just got back from Revalation and MArk and I ran 19T (my first time) It was a blast...I will be running 19T from now on along with Stock. (Roundy, your going down)

Once again, Chris is listening to the racers and doing what it takes to make us happy. Look out for next year! Corona racing will be even better then before!

Racers, get your sign-ups in for the Touring Car Challenge if you want the free shirts! A bunch of sign-ups just came in this week so if you want the free shirt, send yours in today!

PEACE..

I think stock, 19T and mod are all awesome. I don't think one is better than the other...just different. I do think that stock is more competitive though. I also think that 8min is way too much for an electric motor under race conditions. 6 mins would be as far as I'd push it

The only motor I'd run 8 min would be a brushless. I've been doing it in practice in my XXXT running off road with no problem.
