Ya know, all the "hatters" of nitro, is it you can't tune an engine? Must be....I am sorry to say that yes you electric guys, even in the 1/8th scale are takin over. But I for one, and I know there are a few others out there that will never go electric in 8th scale. Yep nitro is a pain in the butt, more expensive...maybe...but at least it's better then hearing a bunch of wining and gears meshing, the smell of nitro is addicting. We all need to run together sometimes, and in a shorter main, yes the electric guys prevail for obvious reasons. Now go ahead and make it a 30 min main or whatever...just as others have said it will take you forever to chnage out a batt...45 seconds...my 6 year old could squirt me in less time then that.. You want longer mains?....learn how to tune an engine and go nitro. lmao.
I am not an expert by any means...i suck....but to hear this wining about why nitro gets longer mains....cause we put more effort into making our rides go around the dirt circle....plain n simple. Yep we have clutch shoes, air leaks, temp change, glow plugs, starter boxes, glow ignitors, $30 gallons of fuel, pipes, fuel tubing, a ton of sheet we need to bring to the track to make sure we can run for the day....What do u have? a charger and a battery.
So to all those who want longer mains....grow a set and come over to the nitro side of life....will you beat me...yep probably.....if you can tune an engine not to flame out...:nod :

Wink WE ARE RACING SUNDAY AT G'S!! 11 AM RACE STARTS

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU RUN ELECTRIC, NITRO, OR GASOLINE. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN PREFERENCE. I HAVE SEEN THE R/C INDUSTRY GO FROM ELECTRIC TO NITRO, BACK TO ELECTRIC BACK TO NITRO AND ELECTRIC AGAIN! IT COMES AND GOES IN WAVES. IT ALSO SEEMS TO DEPEND ON WHAT PART OF THE R/C GROUP YOU HAIL FROM.

IT IS ALSO HARD TO HAVE SUCH LONG MAINS IN EVERY CLASS. NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY AND I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE COMMENT "IT COST ME MONEY TO DRIVE, AND MONEY TO RACE. AT A TRACK ALL DAY AND ONLY GOT TO RUN 30 MINUTES." (BECAUSE OF THE LONGER HEATS THAT OTHER TRACKS HAVE).

SOUND FAMILIAR?? YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

I FOR ONE, THINK G'S TRACK IS PRETTY GOOD, AND HAS THE SET UP JUST RIGHT! OF COURSE, I'M BIASED! ROBIN

Most tracks still offer 30 minute mains for nitro, but the 1/8 electric can easily do 20-30-40-50 minute mains with battery swaps, why havent we done this yet ? I am tired of going to the races running 10 minutes and marshalling a 30 min nitro main with a 4 min warm up. I bet we run 20 or 30 minute electric 1/8 and sct mains we get all the electric racers to show up.. I know it works just did it in 2 different mains saturday night and the turnout was off the hook. How many guys are interested in running 20 minute mains in sct and 1/8electric ???
GOOD ADVERTISEMENT. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A 30 MINUTE NITRO MAIN HERE. WE HAVE 10 MINUTE MAINS FOR ELECTRIC AND 15 MINUTE MAINS FOR NITRO. ROBIN

I agree g's does have a nice set up. I will def be back next year when it's time to go back outdoors. I also understand that majority rules and since it seems electric is that majority now-a-days with the explosion of the e-buggy and sct class that it would only make good business sense to give the people what they want. Besides, it doesn't matter to me how long I get to run, I just like to run. Sorry I ranted before on here, just get sick of the negativity towards "nitro guys".

I agree, I don't mind being mixed in with all the e buggy's , but this last weekend I pitted in the main and none of the ebuggy's with the exeception of killa B stopped and thats not fair.I could have finished with out pitting, but it was cool out and the ninja was fat and I didn't want to take a chance

Not sure all the e-buggies really understood to stop and pit even though G told them at the beginning of the race. Jack and I were marshalling and saw you stop and with the commotion going on we tried to yell across the track for the guys to stop. I love my nitros, but yelling over them is next to impossible. I think we all get along well enough that we can run together both electric and ntiro and just have fun. I know other places they totally refuse to entertain the idea and would rather one person not even run if they can not get enough in a class. The front four buggies were in a pretty good race and to be honest, concentrating on themselves with four buggies with in two lengths of each other, they probably did not notice you stopping. I have raced with cloud9 back and fourth with my truggy and e-scale on many occasions and they were still about even either way on the lap times. The e-scale just takes a lot less work and can make a day more enjoyable at times rather than fighting with a nitro engine and all the failures that may come with it. Although, since I have both, I can say that e-scale with top end speed controllers burning up and pinions and spurs stripping is no more cheaper than nitro. Those batteries puff and four speed controllers later the price is not that much different. Ask Kash how many speedos he has gone through this year. I am not talking about his pit boy Juice's underwear either.

yeah , I am not worried about the pit stop, I was running a buggy I had never had on a track, so I wasn't in the race for the main anyway.I had a great time, and once I get a little more seat time with the o'donnell I will have a better showing up at G's

Hahaha..yeah hopefully next year I can stay on the lead lap and actually give you a run for your money. But that is a long ways off. But hopefully this sct indoor stuff learns me a little throttle control...and darn it, a new set of aluminum steering knuckles hopefully will fix the problem of the screws backing out due to be stripped lol
But it is def fun runnin with ya, gives me something to chase and try to get better.

Jason I don't think the Juice could fit into a speedo, lol.. I will ask him to try that might be his new pit wear next year... Awesome idea.

Guys not bitching about nitro, just think we can run 20 minute mains in sct and 1/8 electric.. Its just an idea that i happened on at some other place.. Yeah we only got 2 Qualifiers but the 20 minute mains more than made up for the 5 minute loss of a qualy. If you can move 90 plus threw and run all Amains for 20 in a time span from 11 to 6.30 than i think G's can do it as well. Just an idea so votes will be needed and G will have to ok it but I personlly think that is where the technology is leading us with the bigger and bigger Batts and more and more efficient speedos, soon we can run 20 minutes with no battery swaps.

G is the man. every time iv been up there at the drivers meeting he always asks what you want to run time wise. if you dont speek up thats your own fault. i like the 15 min nitro mains but longer wouldnt bother me either just a lil more juice in the tank. but noone puts it down like G and the fam
and jason is correct the e scales are just as big a crater in the pocket as nitro its just your flavor of poison, plug and got or smoke and go
NOONE WANTS TO SEE JUICE IN A SPEEDO, G is trying to feed ppl

YOU DIDN'T RANT AT ALL, JUST EXPRESSED YOUR OPINION AND WE APPRECIATE THAT. NITROS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME HERE. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE NEXT YEAR WE WILL HAVE MOSTLY NITROS. IT COMES AND GOES. GLAD YOU LIKE OUR TRACK AND SET UP. THANKS, WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AGAIN. ROBIN

IF WE MIX NEXT YEAR, IF THE ELECTRICS DO NOT STOP---THEY WILL LOOSE A LAP. I ALSO ANNOUNCED IT TWICE WHEN THE 5 MINUTE PIT TIME HIT. SORRY ABOUT THAT. HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT BACK SOON.

I like longer mains, but since I usually travel solo I don't necessarily like to have to find a pit person every weekend (especially since most everyone I know is already sunning SCT).

I'd be more in favor of running multiple mains, or go to like a 15 minute main (force people not to gear the motor up so much and conserve).

Then again ... if we could use the ramp UP to the driver stand to self pit and use one to go back down.. lol..
