How many 1/8 electric guys wanna do battery swaps and run 20-25 minute mains ? I ran a 30 minute main but that was realy a strain on the batts but a 20 or 25 minute main will require a battery change and give us the same kinda run time the nitro cars get.. Most tracks still offer 30 minute mains for nitro, but the 1/8 electric can easily do 20-30-40-50 minute mains with battery swaps, why havent we done this yet ? I am tired of going to the races running 10 minutes and marshalling a 30 min nitro main with a 4 min warm up. I bet we run 20 or 30 minute electric 1/8 and sct mains we get all the electric racers to show up.. I know it works just did it in 2 different mains saturday night and the turnout was off the hook. How many guys are interested in running 20 minute mains in sct and 1/8electric ???

That would be interesting. How were battery swaps done quickly? I know with my Tekno kit, the body must come off, and there are 3 straps. It takes a little to get it in and out, so that may have to modified a bit to do battery swaps. Sounds fun though.

we all had to swap packs on saturday night, done right Bowie had it done in less than 45 seconds and i was back on the track. And believe me he was the slowest swapper there almost cost me the race in the sct main .. Me and second place came in at the same time for battery change and i swear he was in and out in like 15 seconds and bowie finaly got me out when he was almost coming around for a complete lap. So alot of the race results are gonna way on pit times so your gonna need a good PB but man was it the most fun ever, kinda changes the race outcome a little cause you need skills in the pit as well as behind the wheel.... Team work

I am a firm believer, if you want to run more than 10 minutes, go buy a nitro. Or go the other other route and run double a mains. Do you really want to know why most places up this way do not do it? It's $$$$$$. Remember you just went to a cash race where those guys don't care that they have $8000 pit trailers, $1500 race vehicles, and all for a prize of $250 or so. Sounds like a VISA commercial to me, priceless. All those racers were not there for the run time of the mains, it was the word cash that brought them out.

Like to send out a "BIG CONGRATS" to the MACKANI TRIO with 3 pretty much flawless victories in separate classes Too bad ya didn't have the MOD running, maybe a clean sweep. Good people/racers, thanks for all the good rc advice, Ty & I really appreciate it, just them dang "GREMLIN BREAKDOWNS"
Ty & Cody was out there tearing it up, my filming "SUCKED" can't marshal & film at same time (need barf bag watching)

Now to the owners of G's. Thanks for making all us feel at home at the track.
Top notch facility & people, a real good time everytime we have been there. Track was really on yesterday after abit of grooming & the chance for proline gift cert. was well worth the trip (Gas, Food, Tolls, ent. fees) can make it tough, but like Jason said above, $$$$$/prizes bring em' in . I hope it was a successful season G & god willing we'll be back next year & hope to see new & familiar faces again.
Take care

Ahh the duckets, no Jason this was a trophy race at XRC and all mains including nitro where 20 minutes, if you couldnt make run time you had to pit for a battery swap, it was the most awesome race i have been to all year, there doing it again this saturday, i have asked Garland to come with us on saturday to check this battery swapping thing out in person, it really works, we swapped batteries in sct mod, sct, stock, sct 4x4 and 1/8electric, it was awesome.. Who needs nitro when you can run that long with electric.. You and Garland come with me and the wolfpack this saturday so you can try it yourself, you will not be let down i promise.. Garland i hope you consider this in next years racing schedule electric is only gonna get bigger from here, nitro is deffinatly on the way out the door.. Congrats Jason on the 3 way win for you and the family last weekend, thats kinda cool..

I have already did the battery swap game last year in several 90 minute enduro races at Richfield with SCT. After one race you might as well throw out your brushed motor, because they are usually toast. Nitro is bad enough getting people to pit for you. Fueling is a lot simpler and less room for blame on the slow guy in my opinion. I do have some idea of making those battery swaps faster for you. Nice slot in the bottom of the chassis would be quick than taking the body off. No thanks for Saturday, house work to do. Thanks for last weekend. I agree, nitro may be on it's way out. The December issue of car action posted this same question and all those questioned pretty much said they like the brushless better now.
