Arizona Point Series track review......By Kenny Brosh
Thanks Kenny!

Round 4 of the AZ Point Series is in the books, for the most part. I can't see how dirt could be any better than that! No chasing setup all day, just throw down. Lights=great, layout=great, dirt=great; do you see a pattern here. Ron and the guys in Yuma, could make an argument for the best track in the state!

Ron had a well thought out facility ready for us, with lights, electricity, timers area, plenty of pit space, and grade "A" hospitality. The track was more flowing than H.A. or Paddocks last configuration. From right to left there was a long front straight where the rpm's went audibly beyond what they do at Hobby Action. Get off the throttle as you go over the start finish line and hang a right 110 with a small single. The single dropped you right into a left and then right section, for an overall "S" patter for the left portion of the track. Left to right short straight on the back with another small single, just big enough to get you out of shape if taken at the wrong angle. At the end of that short shoot there was a corner table top where the fast guys were treating it like a double (landing on the downside of the table and transitioning 90 degrees right, going back towards the drivers stand). A quick left put you into a big right-handed keyhole. You tracked all the way in a circle while navigating a couple fingers and a small single that dumped down in elevation. Next was the most technical section of the track........ Moving right to left now, you had a medium sized double where the landing was right at the apex of a 165 degree turn, moving you left to right over a large table and double section. It was just long enough to the double where some guys were trying to double single, but it was near impossible and I only saw a few successful attempts. Past that rhythm section was maybe the funnest part of the track. You headed up to the back right portion of the track, which was step elevated about two feet. You kind of hit the first step hard and just bled speed as you landed on the incline to the table. Once on the table you had a tight right and down the table into the ground. Sweet section but hard to see! If you had the flight path cleared you could gas it down there and clear the last table top. That would put you right into the last 90 degree right and onto the straight again. Lap times were exactly what they are at hobby action, maybe just a few tenths quicker

Hey all,

The track will be closed this weekend 5/27-5/29 for a track rebuild. Any help would be great!! So bring your shovels wheel borrows or anything you think might help. My goal is to have the track ready for Wed. night practice. Anyone who helps will get a 30% discount on the BIG BUCKS Race on the 17th.of June. Hope to see you out there.

Thanks, Ron

THE YUMA TRACK NEW LAY-OUT IS DONE!! YEEE-HAAWW!!!

Check out the photo link in my sig.The last 8 pics are of the new lay-out,It`s gonna be a blast!!
The pit is now open view,There`s a 24` triple(can you say BIG AIR!!) I raised the elevated corner leading into the pit about a foot. I`m guessing it`s about 680 running foot.I`ll measure it tonight. Should be a little more technical than before.I think you guys will like it!!

I`ll get some daylight photo`s soon
