Default M&M Hobbies 1/12 talk

So lets get some talk about 1/12 going on. We can share setup advice and so on...

I will have my car thursday, I have just purchased a Hotbodies 12x from a guy in Dallas. It has been modified to run tubes and a center shock instead of the friction dampner disk.

I think we should run 17.5 with no dynamic timing. later on when our skill level and we aquire more racers for the class maybe we could also have a turbo class. Whats everyone elses take on the situation?

Spec timing class is a really good idea. Especially as it doesn't sound like anyone knows what the traction will be like for a 12th.

I'll be there this weekend with a GenXL

I would start with pink rears and purple fronts. If you need more steering move up in the following order for more steering and less rear bite

Pink/Lilac
Pink/Double Pink
Pink/Magenta
Pink/Pink
Magenta/Lilac
Magenta/Double Pink
Magenta/Magenta
Double Pink/Lilac
Double Pink/Double Pink

The track surface is so new that we don't have to spray it with sugar but when we did, I ran Magenta all the way around and the car was on rails.
Without spraying it this weekend you will need to sauce the tires pretty good and you will have grip. I ran mine last week with compound on the rears only and it was stuck.
