Inaugural Electric World GT, Open Mod TC Race/

First Club Race on the new Asphalt,

August 1, Saturday, 11:00 AM

Our first World GT Petite Le Mans race (200 mm electric Pan car, Orion 3800mA-h/2s LiPo, Novak 10.5), will be held along with an Open Mod 190 mm ROAR rules electric touring car race along with the Nitros (in the other heats) at our first club race, August 1, Saturday, 11:00 AM. If the past year holds some precedent, look for a few races in the future in the evening and maybe on Sunday. The typical club race as well as this one will be on Saturday. Gate opens 9:00 AM, signup starts at 10:00, Race starts at 11:00 AM. Other hours and days will be discussed after the race. We also will offer a run what you brung electric race for beginners along with the two other classes. See the following link for class rules.

There will be over $100 in prizes given to the top three finishers with spec cars in the Petite Le Mans race. These will be recently released hop ups for the Gen X 10 running on asphalt. These include the Nerf wings and Shortie grahite bumper shown in the following pic. Third pic Saleen Mustang GT, World GT body.

I just saw a brand new Gen X 10 kit for .................... Could it be...............Madd Dog Racing??? Let the Smack talk begin. Will have to teach him how to turn right; That's what my right side Nerf bar is for.

We made some progress this morning on a yearly schedule. I have the holy schedule pad in my hand actually. We have tried to include a couple of Sundays a month for electrics. Some of these will be electrics and Nitros. The next Sunday race will be August 9th. Signup at 12:00, Racing at 1:00 PM. Gates open at 11:00 AM. I will make available a Web page with the Master schedule in a day or two.

Score, nice job John! this will really help at least me be able to attend more races. Organization should lead to fewer 'can't run a class today so lets practice' type of days.

Thanks to all that showed. We hope for a better turnout next Sunday. The track was dry at 11:00 AM. We had great weather and 7 World GT cars with six drivers.

(Note that Doug Powell has tooled up and shipped out a customer set of nerf wings based on my updated drawing. There are now four holes for the outer body post to fit a variety of posts and body shoulders. These were put in by hand on the prizes. info@powellracingcomponents.com)

Guys, I'll be the one to start this. Mike has put a ton of money into this facility, not just for the worlds but for our use as well. Todays turn out was pathetic, and not enough people put their input in about today not being a good day. The last thing i want to see is all of us lose the ability to have this world class facility anytime we want it. Lets do our part to support this track, the management and owner. I am willing to do my part here but we need some more participation from others. If sunday needs to be the day, I am sure they will accomodate that to bring in revenue. After a turn out like today i am starting to understand why Mike turned the upstairs "carpet track" in to a ball room. At least they have a full house there twice a month.
