Default East TN Local Information, possible Retirement

Hello everyone.... look'in for some local information.

1. From what I have seen it looks like you have some nice
tracks in your area.... Congrats!!!

2. How long is your racing season there?
How long can you continue to run outdoors?

3. Is there any Indoor Racing?

4. Any On-Road Racing? ...Road Course or Oval, Carpet/Blacktop?

Looking at Eastern TN (Knoxville area, or North) for retirement....
I see there is a VA Hospital in Mountain Home (I need that)

Any suggestions on where to look for some secluded lake
front property?

Any other advice you can offer would be Very Helpful..!!

Thank You, and remember.....
If you ain't break'in parts, you ain't driving fast enough!!

Plenty of racing, concrete oval mini bristol 20 min south of knoxville
New offroad track 5 min outside of knoxville with plans to build a dirt oval, no RC racing that I know of.
Plenty of places for sale around Norris lake, about 15 min north of knoxville

about an hour an a half or 2 hours from knoxville east towards bristol, and I think there is one south of knoxville

As far as RC racing goes, there is an off-road track on the north west side of Knoxville with plans to build a dirtoval in the winter for the spring season. Concrete pan car racing was ran in Maryville but that is going to be gone soon if not already. That is about it for the outdoor stuff, at the end of October the indoor carpet stuff gets going in Greenville with pancars, about an hour and 15 minutes away, and in Harriman we run carpet oval with Losi mini latemodels. 25 minutes away. They get some pan cars but very few. The big class is the mini latemodels. 25-30 avg. each week. As far as some lakefront property I can get you some info on area realtors. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend and where you want to live. We get an avg. of 4-8 inches of snow each year. That is spread out from November-March. We are always between 30-45 degrees in daytime temps. No sedan racing at all anywhere but there has been talk about it in the Maryville area but I wouldn't be holding my breath for it. Touring car racing has been practically non-existant for about 3 years now.

When did you move to Knoxville? Like I said 30-40 degrees. On occasions it will get down to the 20s but that is when the sun goes down and you are inside anyway.

East Tennessee is probably one of the prettiest places at any time of year.
