Default DUO 2 Based Zipper 10.5, 13.5, 17.5

Hi John,

I was looking at the can design of the new Duo 2 coming out in July. They look very much like the old Trinity Pulse motor cans.

My experience with the Trinity Pulse 17.5 is they tend to run very hot. Since then I have switched to your original 17.5 Express Motorsports Duo that run many degrees cooler using the same gear ratio. I do like the design of the Pulse cans since you can adjust the timing easily. Do you know if those new Duo 2 cans will stay cool? Are they based of the Pulse cans?

Do you manufacture mod motors? Are they a special order item? I was looking for a 5.5 or 4.5.

Last question. Do you sell the complete sensor port on the motor side that the sensor cable plugs into? A fellow friend and racer, DJGonzo69, borrowed mine at this years Reedy Race. It was removed from a brand new 13.5 I purchased from you over a month ago. I guess his went bad. Let me know.

Thanks!

Edit: Additional Question.

The new DUO 2 motor is based of the original DUO. The changes include better ball bearings, Cans are same just colored like Pulse series for teching,But center is DUO based still. Rotors are said to be slightly stronger and Endbell is same idea from Pulse series that does allow fine timming ajustments. But overall its still a DUO not a Pulse..I will test those as soon as they come in and see where we need to go with those. With Veags,Nats and many major races upcoming we plan to have what ever we feel is best for the racers.

Yes we can get mod motors also..DUO based.. E Mail me direct for details.

Come July when dealer gets cought up plan to carry spare sensor boards. But looking at price they will be in $35 range. But for now I do have a spare here fron my personal motor I smoked testing. I can help with you get current motor fixed from those endbell parts which are in great shape..E mail me on that also....

Hey all..

Just a update..13.5 motors are on delay till about 10-12 more days. Our order that came in didnt have any 13.5s that we ordered as dealer was out. I do also only have 1 17.5 left in current stock. Al other orders and rapairs were shipped.......

Tag - what rubber touring fdr would you suggest to start with on a 13.5t duo and Tekin RS 1.98 with max boost and zero physical timing on the motor? I was thinking about starting at 5.0 fdr and checking temps 3 min in.

I had been running an LRP sphere 07 with profile 7 and 10 deg physical timing at 4.0 to 4.2 fdr. My xray just lost 15 grams of weight with the speedo change and tighter electronics install.

Hey Mike ..For Jackson that a great starting point for sure. That should be with in a tooth or 2 ,Depending on weather(heat) and chassie. Smaller tracks like T&L I would go to about 5.3. Great Speedo!!!

Hi John,

My friend returned the sensor board to me however, he may have contacted you via email to replace his from his 17.5 Duo.

Looking forward to trying out the Duo2.

Thanks Tag! I'm trying to not hand grenade my duo collection. I've read people running as high as 5.7 fdr w/ LRP's new speedos so I didn't know if 5.0 was too low.
