Well I think I'm giving up racing to pursue nitro boats, lol. A buddy of mine baught a 1/12 scale Miss Budweiser gas boat and needed help getting her together. After some redneck jimmy rigging, we took her to the water. Good thing I brought tools. I took her for a few laps around the pond.

First run I hit a floating log we couldn't see from shore and ripped off both rutters. After some drilling and re-screwing, took a few more runs, AWESOME. He then took for a spin, and beached it within 2 minutes, LOL. The scare of the day came when he flipped the boat with my DSM receiver in it and the boat got water logged. Somehow the receiver still worked so he had me wheel the rest of the quart of fuel.

Moral of the story: The most fun I've had with a radio in a long time didn't come racing or competing, but just goofing off on a lake with a nitro boat and a friend. Maybe now getting back to the track for some scale racing will be more relaxing since since I know how much FUN this should be.

I heard that ya'll didn't break it by beaching it, but that you were trying to set the "TWEAK" over your knee!

Well atleast with boating when your face gets they will have plenty of water around to cool you off.....

Melton behind the wheel of an R/C boat. Hmmm. And it was a "Budweiser" boat. Why doesn't that surprise me.

I know what you mean by relaxing at the track Brandon. I ran oval this past weekend and it was the most fun I had racing in a while. I ran oval a lot in the past. Now here's the funny part... I ran a borrowed car, borrowed sticks, borrowed tires - I TQed and Won over this years SnowBirds champ!!! That's funny right there.

I think it had a lot to do with no pressure. Just relaxing and having fun with the guys. That's my motto from now on. Have fun no matter what. If I destroy a car doing it, oh well, it better have been a cool wreck.

Brandon, you asked for it...I know Anthony couldn't resist.

And, yes, Chris...there is another way to set tweak. It's the Melton Method.

The coolest part about the boat is the fact that it has a water cooled head. It has a pick up back by the prop, and runs through the head, and spits it out underneath the front bow where you can see it.

Nice part about that is the fact that I had it lean as hell, and the cold water kept the temp way down. It ran about 240deg in 30 secs on the stand, but in the water, it never came back over 175, .

Hey Team,

I usually have my delta for the IB3800's set at .20 , What would raising it to .40 do? I heard that can give you a better charge.........

I hope you mean .02 and not .20 .

If your indoors without a cool draft use a .03, if the batts are cool when you put them on, use .04.
