Okay, the results after two rounds is in:

A-main Stock
1) Brandon Melton - 3 pts
3) Mike Dobbs - 5 pts
?)

Dobbs leaves 1st and Brandon 2nd though because they reshuffle by fastest rounds, not qual points.

Tag is building for someone else in the A--not sure who it is. He didn't mention names. Not only that, but probably 10 other guys littered around the stock class.

19T
13) Brandon Melton
14) Mike Dobbs

Speaking with them both, they think they've found the 2/10ths necessary to make the A. We'll see tomorrow.

Masters
4) John Piant

John normally runs offroad for us down in South Carolina/North Carolina area. He used to be one of the drivers of Big Foot back in the late 80s.

Default 19t motors

What is your take on 19t....ie the c2, reedy quad and atlas?

What is the motor of choice for the team guys for carpet/foam racing for sedans.

Thanks

Jamie

For most of us that run on carpet around here, the monster stock seems like the best choice for power! Best motor track wide and tons of power. The Epic Roar Stock isn't to shabby either. Made for open tracks I believe really. The monster is best suited for tiny indoor tracks. Correct me If I'm wrong somebody!

Jamie, for stock class, the above post is true. Let me add by saying the Monster really is the best choice even on large tracks simply because the ROAR is pretty finnicky on gearing and has a tendency to lay down when it gets too hot.

For 19T class, we generally rely on the C2-based teardown for power. It's the most versatile track to track and can run great on small tracks and large tracks alike.

Generally, the Atlas motor is preferred over the Reedy Quad-Mag. We're not big fans of the Reedy and don't bother tuning that much with them. They really don't spool up that well on large straights no matter how high you gear them. The Atlas is similar to the Reedy in that it's very torque-based. However, the Atlas will keep pulling on the straightaways whereas the Reedy sort of shuts down.

For most people, the C2 is the way to go...easy to gear...easy to tune.

Hope this helps ya out.

I would like to say Congrats to All of the eXpress Drivers that went to the Nats, and represented the team Very well, once AGAIN!!

Looks like Dobbs, and Melton both had very solid runs in the stock A's, along with John Piant's very good run in Master's Touring. I am not sure of final positions, but it looks like there were some top 5 runs there! Way to go guys!

I have also heard a little bit about Tag helping some other races AGAIN! Tag, You're the Man! It seems that the guys that run this team dont mind helping anybody, at any time.

Again, congrats to Mike, Brandon, and John for their A main runs at the Nats.

All the eXpress guys that went, You guys ROCK!

Great runs for our boys down in Florida!

Mike Dobbs comes home with a podium finish in Stock Touring. I'm not sure if it's 2nd or 3rd because he and Ertrachter are tied. I believe Jason's faster overall time will prevail leaving Mike 3rd. [Update - he finished 3rd behind TJ Bradley because of the way points were done.]

Brandon Melton finishes in the 7th position in the A-main of stock touring.

Both guys finished in the B in 19T with Dobbs in 4th and I think Brandon in like 6th?

Good run for John Piant in the Masters Touring A-main. I believe he finished 4th overall in the A.

Our products ran super well down there and BIG PROPS to Tagteam for all his hard work and effort. Again, gluttons for punishment that we are we ended up tuning multiple A-main drivers' stuff. It's all good though!

I've had a lot of luck with the P2K2 on tight indoor carpet tracks. It seems to pull out of the corners harder than the Monster. I'm able to run 6 teeth higher (64P) on the pinion with the P2K2 than a Monster; this gives it great top end also.

What a long week with all the rain and limited practice, and starting late everyday. Thanks alot to Tag for doing the motors so I could concentrate (we all know what concentrating involved) on my car and getting tires lined up and prepped for two classes. We definatly had a great week. Would like to have had better mains, but I know next time that the "stock" class isn't for the clean hearted racer by my experience. I learned I give to much respect on the race track. From listening to comments from other drivers about how you have to be, it makes me like the 19T and mod classes better, even if I don't finish as well. Call it hard racing, call it aggressive, whatever, but I think are videos of the race coming out, and people will see what happened in my 2/3 main. Anyhow, it's over and we definatly turned alot of heads. I am not saying we "should have or would have" won the race but I really think we could have, but it just woesn't in the cards. But regardless, I/we definatly had better than a 7th place effort.

Congrats to Drew Ellis on his win, he deserved to win because he did everything he needed to do, and drove smart. Hard to say if he had the fastest car, we all know the fastest car may not always win, but he stayed clean and waited for the right opportunity, and did what he needed to do.

Brandon, Nice run. I think you need to learn the phrase "thank you, drive through!" Thats what you say on the driver's stand after you give the car in front of you the "chrome horn"
