Jon - checking that e-mail out now.

Regarding the announcement, ah, well, there's a hold on it. Sorry, guys. As soon as I know anything, you'll hear about it.

Testing went really well today in spite of the fact that the track at Jackson was as green as a four-leaf clover. I mean, it was *loose*!

BUT, by the end of the day, nearing 6:00 PM, the track had gotten a decent groove in it and actually, Freddy and my last packs were solid. The cars were sticking quite well and I was able to drive it in pretty hard. Cuffs and I were talking and he felt that a nice groove should be worked in in the next couple of weeks. I think if we spray down the track with some orange soda or VHT on Saturday and maybe a little on Sunday, the track is gonna come around.

Hey Jon, What were you running. Stock or 19t?

Well, until about 4PM, I was running 19T. Then, when Jeff and the other guys showed up I ran an 8x1 which was sick fast but totally undriveable on a green track like that, then I ran a stock motor for my last pack with Freddy and it was darn good. I think if the track is still not sticky enough for Sunday, we should all run stock class.

Once the track comes around, I'll gladly move right up to 19T. I like the speed of 19T on the track. It's a nice compromise and not nearly as hard on the car as a modified would be.

Sounds great I think I'll stick with stock for now, Maybe try some 19t after the groove gets in.

Don't know if I got the stomach to try a 8X1

HDSport - Yeah, the track was so nutty loose and the motor so crazy, I was braking hard (think full stop) coming into the sweeper.

Fred - Yup, I was running CS27s. We tried the Sizumi (sp?) mounted on firm inserts and believe it or not, I liked the TakeOffs much better. Maybe in different track conditions, that would've changed.

Also, regarding compounds, so far, I liked the Red Dot the best. I mean, they got the tires the stickiest and the softest. I tried pretty much every traction compound so far and I liked that one the best.

Again, these are all just cursory observations--the track will come around and things will change.

Default Nice practice run

WOW! That was an experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Track was a bit slippery.....but once I mounted those skates on my Xray.. It was dialed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had some great laps..... the new Xray was dialed... ran stock. but it was "TAGGED" so... it was just like running a 19t... It was SICK!!!!! LOL!

It was nice to be outside running some laps... (A Bit on the nippy side!!!)

Looking forward to this season.. Sorry I wont be there for the opener!!!! I will however be playing in the dirt on Sat... and running Micros on Thurs... and maybe if I have time sneak in another day or two of touring car practice!!!! (I need all the practice I can get!!!!)

Jon- At the paved nats I ran tire tweak straight, although if the tire isnt soft enough (ie its not getting up to temp, or they can stand getting burnt up more) you can cut it with paragon. The best stuff though is tyree's special sauce, no clue how to get it though, lol, but its a red liquid for refence....

Otherwise I would suggest finding some tire tweak, stuffs dialed!

Default Tire Tweak

Just an fyi...We ran tire tweak at rcmadness last year with cs27 or sorex..seems to be the best combo..basically a med traction surface.

Try sorex tires...I have had the best luck with them from traction and wear...28 work well in low temps and try 36r with medsoft insert once the warm weather hits.

Mark 100% on the paragon.

Are you guys from express planning on racing at rcmadness during the asphalt season?

Cool you guys are talking about sauce on rubber tires. I'm just gluing up some new RP-30's and 36's. Thought they might work good this sat @ WC for the first points race. Though the track will probably be dirty so it will be hard to find traction with rubber or foams..lol

So Mr. Fontaine is active on line. Here I thought he fell asleep at his computer again! For all wondering, a shipment of Xray parts has hit the shore. Battery braces for the 05' are now here and can be found at Speed Tech. Now then, if only I can get rid of my Evo for a new 05' I'm set to go! Next time, I'll just wait till a new car is debued after the race! That way I don't waste money on old stuff!

John F. has does that song go? Slip and slide? You know the track is gonna be slick as ice! It might be worth stopping by too see you sing "Ice Ice baby" for the entire 5 minutes of slipping and sliding!
