Default Express KS motors

Hey Jon,
Just wanted to thank you for your awesome killshot motors.
They performed quite well @ the ROAR carpet regionals @ TQrc garnering 2nd, 2nd and 3rd overall in stock tc, gt 10 and superstock tc respectively.
55-58 deg timing appears to be the ticket in TC.

Best regards,
Vincent R.

Thx man Good to be back for sure!! Agreed... those Killshots are amazing stock motors. It was a rocket ship at the WRL finale week before last. Q5 finished 4th overall in Stock 2wd sct. ran a 78/28 with 57* timing ... was a rocket ship o that massive layout. Was clearing some spaced gaps only a few cd clear. Thx to the HP. This past weekend at Sparks April Fools day race in Columbus I ended up Q6 and 4th again... lol always a brides maid. The track was awesome but very odd to gear. Ended up staying with 78/27 but had to kick the timing to 60 before I cd get it cooled to the 130 to 140 range. And man Ill tell.... it felt like 10.5 inn spots it had so much punch.... and didn't lose a thing on the straight. So thx Tag for making me fast again!! lol Ill be attending the Novice Nationals at Sparks RC Park next week 26th as a 'Pro consultant'. Helping out all the kids with set up and whatever else they need.... we'll also be doing one heat as an exhibition for the Kids. This is a great event and maybe this could start something at other local track nationwide. Those kids or the hobbies future.....

Peace out folks I've jabbered enough!!

Hi guys ..I need some help choosing Killshot motor.
As you can see in my sig I'm use to tons of power in my cars but I want to get in to a stock shortcourse class for training purpose. Anyway, it'll be for stock 17.5 sc class, running on offroad clay from med to large, with tight turns tracks. The truck is 1/10 kyosho scr.
Sorry about dumb questions but the stock class is new to me and I want to make a right decision .
Thx

JJ...? Really.....Uuuhhhh....J/K

The motor you want is the Kill Shot 17.5 Beast..HT version with 12.5mm HT rotor. Those have great balance of low end and mid range. I would start with same gear Chris posted below and adjust to your track and driving style as needed.

Ok...just ordered 17.5 beast/tq motor and I'm wondering what kind or how to maintain these motor with all the opening on the can. I'll be running it on indoor clay track only.
Non of my current BL motor has any opening in them and all I do is oil the end bearings.
Thanks.

I give mine a lil squirt of ELECTRIC motorspray and let the gunk runout. Im carefull not to squirt it directly toward the board at the end bell. Hold the motor horizontal and just squirt the arm at the openings. Repeat at each opening. Squirt the bearings at each end. Drop of Bearing oil give it a cpl spins and away we go.

Thanks TDX
Thanks John for lighting fast shipping
One question through. ..i've notice the can is already set at 60 degrees. Is that a starting point? Goes up from there ?
I know...dumb questions but I never had to deal with timing before

Glad motor arrived fast. Motor is actually at 58* if ya look real close. Yes..Keep motor there and adjust gearing as needed. Try and gear motor to pull 3/4 the main straight for best balance of straight line speed and torque. If running a shorter track bump timing back to 55-56*. I would not recommend ever going past 60* for off road or most other racing at that.
