So apart from user error I had a great weekend with my express RPM killshots. I popped my HT rotor thinking I could wind up the timing a touch more than what John had set it. Only bumped up to 60 from 55 but that was a bad move. With the original 55 on the can i started at 4.2 and worked my way down the fdr range looking for speed and punch. 6th run on the motor i was running a 3.8fdr, Temped the motor at 50c at 3 minutes and kept running. Motor was only 55c when it melted 30 seconds later.

Bolted in the standard rotor RPM motor and ran the rest of the weekend at 3.94 at around 50c with enough pace to be competitive. Car set up and tyre prep cost me a main spot running 3 seconds adrift of the main in a extremely competitive field. Stoked with my result. Ill be ordering a 13.5 stator next as we are changing to 13.5 blinky next year.

Great report. Sorry to hear about the failure..that stinks..we always know its a risk going that far..But the racer in all us will always push the line. We found 55-57 the spot to be for most tracks. Higher is slightly risky . Great report sounds like you saved the weekend with a great effort.

I dusted off my short course truck and took my six year old boy to the local indoor offroad carpet track. It was still set up with the D3.5 so I ran it and I beat the track record by over a lap and fast lap by almost .6 tenths on a 11 second track. On even a better note me and my son shared the truck and he ran novice, we both tq'd and won.

I took the day off yesterday and went racing. I loved the new motor!!!! I had plenty of torque and rpms. I was using the Bulls Eye torqe stator with the 12.5 HT rotor geared at 4.0. I qualified 6th in the A main and finished 5th. I would say that I finished so low due to getting hit a couple of times, but in truth I had an off power push that I could not get out of the car. So I will have to do some testing, and you can bet I will come back ready to rock. Thanks Express Motorsports for the motor and opportunity!!!!!!!!

Hey Mac...

Great report. Glad motor worked out well..Great run for getting into few on track issues with tight car. Nothing a little tweaking cant fix..Keep digging....

I already have a Revtech RT Beast, can I just use the new kill shot stator and the other parts from my Revtech to make a killshot motor?

You would have to buy the stator and whole timing plate endbell, which is different on killshot motors. You might as well pick up a whole new tuned up Killshot Beast from express for the money you will spend on just parts.
