Currently I'm running the Zapper 17.5t with 34/72 gearing and my temps range in the 150-160... Even at this gearing I find it slow when my normal gearing is 34/69 where I find the speed is about perfect. And at that gearing I get temps from 160-170. I find the temps to be a bit too high even tho I run indoor and the outdoor temps are from 70-85 on any given sunny day. Is this consider normal temps from what I have described? I feel like 34/69 gearing is just right to get the speeds I want without feeling slow and is the gearing I see being ran at my track, although the temps are too high for my likings. Should I turn the motor timing down? Suggestions?

Hey Doug..

Right now there are a slew of diffrent ways motor was run at Nats and local events. From RPM with HT rotor. Some ran HT version with std rotor and we had some testing HT Motor with HT Rotors. So far all have worked well. Still early and lots of testing/laps to be run to nail down best option. Not 100% sure on what all ran at Nats as we were not there. But I did hear RPM motor was most comon. We have tested HT motor with HT rotor and so far like that combo also.

I recently purchased the express revtech rt beast 17.5.
I can't find anywhere what rotor it comes with..
It's packaged in a bag with no instructions, the motor is good enough for me speed wise and power wise also with my new ORCA speedo, just want to know if I should buy a HT rotor or does it come with it? It's bigger than my TP red rotor in diameter and has blue on the top where the TP is red, blue or green..

12.5 HT rotor or 12.3 HT rotor, which is better? Or is it just the length of the rotor? The 12.5 in the xray t4 tends to hit the battery, how can I fix this other than cutting the rotor

John I tried man! Got looked at by a few scouts after my Sr. year of college. One told me I wasn't tall enough or threw hard enough so that kinda sealed the deal for me.

As far as racing, its full time man! I race it all. 2wd, 4wd, and truck in 1/10th and Nitro and electric in 1/8th. Keeps me busy, but, my sponsors all help me out a ton...definitely like to know where I'd be now without the 5 yr layoff. But, I enjoyed the good ole days of Surge/Express...so much fun.

I got my Killshot beast today and I just wanted to say thanks to Express for the super fast shipping. Ordered on Saturday evening and got it today from the other side of the united states!

This motor looks BEAST!

I ran my eXpress Ripper 13.5 in my sprint car for the first time today. I immediately picked up 2 to 3 tenths a lap and had the fastest car on the track! I ended up finishing 2nd but my car is faster than it's been in a very long time!

Great motor, thank you!
