Just got my new Atlas 19T in the mail (freakin' cold, but beautiful). Where does the rollout (sedan) fall in relation to the C2 and the Reedy? Any suggestions where to start with foams? Just looking for a leaping off point...

I was checking out the 19t motors and noticed they had different wire gages. Could anyone tell me what the difference between 18.5 and 19 awg wire does. THANKS

Whoa!!!! Just recieved my Team BrOOd Pro Monster, and 4cells of IB3800's in the mail....and after reading some posts can't wait to try them out...... One question for you 12th scale guru's.....for stock racing what is the best gearing for 12th scale stock.12L3 If running 48 pitch what is a good baseline starting point. Or with 64 pitch ?....... where do I find a good, easy to use rollout guide?
Team BrOOd is about to be introducted to the Lake Superior RC Car Club!!
Want to make a good impression..............so any help is greatly appreciated.

rctice, I'm not a 1/12 guru by any means - I just came off of a 12 yr "retirement" . I ran my first stock race in over a decade tonight. I started off with a 30 pinion and 96 spur with 1.77 rear tires with a monster stock with F brushes on a mildly technical mid 12 sec lap track. I went up to a 33 pinion and gained 3 tenths! Had 30 secs run time left with really old 3300's. With punchier batteries - your gearing may be much different.
Moral of the story = gearing seems to be pretty sensitive with stock. Do what your lap times tell you. MANY variables at play, not the least of which how you roll into the trigger.

Apex gear it up! When I ran a C2 at 27/28 the Atlas was at 30/31.

BonesBs, all indications point to yes, as I have my ticket.....I won't be there till friday though....

Panther420, if your track allows it, use the 18.5.....ROAR spec is 19 AWG, but lots of tracks allowed any size....18.5 is a half size bigger and gives about 10-15 watts more in power....

Is there an online tutorial on how to understand these dyno graphs. I'm trying to wrap my head around it but I'm not understanding this fully. I'll be using it for 1/12 so I imagine the readings up to 5v is what is relevant for me? Problem with that is that it seems at 5v, there's only about 10K RPMs of output. Shouldn't there be about double?

Any help would be great.

How can a club (that requires 19 gauge) tell a 18.5 from a 19?

They could measure the wire.....

Also, an 18.5 gauge arm would be hand wound, and Peter does a fabulous job. If they looked at the arm, they would be able to tell it was a hand wound arm, it would be very obvious.

Its up to the track to determine whether hand wound 19t's are legal for use at their races. Some even allow adjustable timing.....

You can make a good estimate based on how full the armature is.
If they know how to look, they will see it.

If the rules allow, or there are no rules against, then what is there to lose sleep over?
