When I read the specs for the 21.5 I get the impression that it would come with the purple rotor, low strength, high rpm. I don't see a pink rotor anywhere, but the web site isn't always up to date.

I think the idea is that its a 21.5 which would be short on rpm so they put the high rpm rotor in it to get up to more top end. Not the best for TC, probably could use a mid or torque rotor instead.

Maybe EA or Mike have more up to date info, but, again, I have never seen a pink rotor.

It should have the purple ring 12.3 medium strength rotor like all motors. The pink is a 12.5 rpm rotor. Not very good for tc. It's possible that it's just the wrong color ring but correct strength. Only way to tell is a meter and compare them.

couple questions... just bought a 17.5 revtech... I have never ran blinky before... this will be going in a xray t3 till i feel confident to run mod
What rotor would be the best for tc? and would that rotor be good for 17.5 blinky and boosted? and finally i see rollout being mentiond... What exactly is that

The 12.5 HT (high torque) rotor would be good. That's what I run in my T3. As far as roll out the is more for foam tire racing. It's basically your way of determining your gearing for your FDR thats used in rubber tire racing. Are you running rubber or foam. The HT rotor will be good for both blinky and boosted. It lets you run a little lower gearing for more top end but still gives you the low end, and actually runs a little cooler.

Awesome... I ordered the right 1... I'm running rubber... Would you recommend a fdr for blinky and boosted? Onroad is new to me... I run at leisure hours raceway... It's a fairly big track... I can post a pic when I get to a CPU.

I am fairly new as well. If you look on you tube under mikes hobby shop, that's where the roar carpet nats were just held. I think most of our guys are running between a 3.6 and 3.9 in blinky 17.5. I am not sure about boosted. Look at the track and you can get an idea of size and compare it to yours.

Hey Beth,

Did you purchase it from a dealer brand new? Ive never seen one come from the factory with a pink one. Either purple or some have come with the 1112 High torque rotor which is light blue.

Did you measure the rotor @ 12.5mm?

One of my revtechs came with what looked like a pink rotor.... turned out to just be the standard 12.3 broad powerband, but the color was really faded on the ring.

I run at LH also, for the RevTech 17.5, you will be in the 3.9 to 3.6 range, depending on what layout they run. Run for say 2 mins and temp the motor, until you are sure that you can go 6 mins without getting over 170F to 180F... I can tell you all you need to is to just ask, most racers will help you. How to calculate FDR: Gear Chart you select your car (which as an internal ratio). Remember, with the FDR we run, you need to make sure that your motor will slide to fit the pinion to the Spur. Not sure on the Xray what this range is...

I am running a 96/47 which is a 3.88. 96/50 gives you a 3.64. The internal ratio for a T3 is 1.9. So just divide your spur by the pinion and multiply by 1.9.

Just measured the rotor, yep its 12.5mm, so really is the pink rotor.
Motor was purchased new through Stormer, so i dont thing anything going on there.

looks like i just have an odd motor

no dramas though, ill throw it in the F103 until i can get a new rotor for it.

Beth.
