Not sure who told you that. I ran them in every class and had no issues. In Oval you could not run them in the SPEC TOUR Classes as TOUR dissallows them in the those classes.

The lighted parts are not legal per ROAR rules. They are not original equipment and therefore not SPEC. If they are not on the approved motor and tuning parts list that ROAR publishes then it is not legal. This applies to all motor manufactures equally.

hi EA, so i finally got to trying a revtech in 1/12 17.5 blinky. i am used a duo2 and d3 at max timing and 95-100 on rollout.

just dropping in a revtech with max timing and 97, seemed to fade a bit early on, and to bog a little. i re-read everything i could here and didn't get a clear picture on where to go.

compared to duo2 or D3 do i want to try more/less timing and/or more/less rollout?

What size are the timing plate screws on the Revtech?

Try backing the timing off to the 2nd to last hash mark... and dropping the rollout to 95mm. If that works better, bump up the timing to the last hash and slowly up the rollout.

Ive found that the stock rotor has a pretty small window (~2mm) for rollout before it starts to get sluggish. But it works great once you find the sweetspot.

ok, thanks for the info.

so in comparison with the D2 or D3, the revtech 17.5 tends to want a little less timing and less rollout.

Definitely less rollout. Ive found that the timing sweet spot seems motor dependent. I have run 2 Revtechs in 17.5 12th over the past 3 months. One of them liked a lot of timing... right @ the last hash, but anymore than that and it would start to fade considerable halfway into a run.

The other motor just wasn't happy with anything above the 2nd to last hash. It was just as quick as the other motor, just had a different sweet spot.

Default REVTECH 4XS 4-pole motor 4800kv

What would be a capable 1/10 ESC for this bad boy?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...8-Shaft-4800kV

Due to their size, I try not to go the 1/8 ESC route if possible.

What rotor should come in the revtech roar spec motors ??

I picked up a 21.5 today and from what i can tell is the 12.5 high rpm rotor
not exactly a good rotor for blinky touring car. I was under the impression it came with one of the mid strength rotors

Beth.
