seaball - Thanks for the response. I just want to fully understand. So, as I look at the end of the motor the "+" is at the right, so, if I rotate the "0" clockwise,as you said, it would move away from the "+", which I would think that would mean less timing, not more. Also, there are 9 lines on the can which you said each one = 5* which would be 45 total + the sensor board set timing of 30 which would make a total of 75* not 58*.

I'm not trying to ba a smart a**, just soooo confused.

The whole reason I am trying to find out is because i'm having issues of losing speed after about 2 min of runtime ( meaning I am probably slower than a VTA car). I think with the timing I have in my tekin and the can timing I may have too much. Sometimes it will run a full 6 minutes with no issues and temps in the 135 range. When it loses speed, temps are not even 100 deg.

Thanks, Gary

your thinking is right, but the center of the nine lines is 0, i believe. therefore, it's the 30* (board) +/- 20* (marked), and i'd estimate that the end bell over rotates the scale by another ~8* or so each way.

all said, your issues sound strange to me, but yeah, guys who run that esc (or timing boost in general) tend to crank most of the timing out of the motor. start there and check back in.

Thanks again. Light bulb went on in my head right when I woke up, before I even read your last post. Then looked at motor and saw that the line at about 9 oclock is the negative mark. duh. Thanks for the info and patience, I will let you know what happens when I back the timing out.

I believe most people at IIC running TC Stock (blinky) where running the timing at positive tick 3 (second to last before the +) and a FDR around 3.8/3.7. There were 4 revtech motors in the a-main.

I was running the revtech 17.5 on the weekend and was playing with the timing, I found at the point where it over-rotates past the last timing notch, then hits the"+" symbol the motor rpm goes up markedly. I ran it like this for one run, with FDR of 4, the motor temp was about degrees 80c or 175f. Is that too hot for this motor? THe RPM boost was audibly much higher in the range between the last notch and the "+" symbol.
All in all was impressed and had a lot of torque and top end was as good as the speed passion v3 MMM
I was running with a slightly lower FDR, 3.8, and timing set 3 notches off the top notch and it was running just as hot.

I ordered 1 from fantom and they sent me an email that they would have them back in stock this week . So since they use revtechs trinity should have them in 1st .

I was planning on going, but now I can't make it. Oh well, it's probably best if I spend more than a couple of weeks with my new chassis before going to a big race anyway.

Best of luck Kenny and any other team guys attending.

Hey guys, a couple of Q's...

When you guys say FDR of 3.8, meaning Spur/Pinion = 3.8? Internal ratio is not considered?? Or is it Spur/Pinion x Interal Ratio = 3.8?

I am going to be running a 17.5 with a Tekin RS Boosted. Is 3.8 a good starting point for it?

What temps should I be looking at the 4 min mark??

Thanks.
