I tried to replace my stock Hobbywing V3 fan with a Seis fan but it stutters when I connect it to the ESC (via the fan plug). Works fine when I connect it to the receiver, does the ESC fan plug put out more voltage or something?

That won't work, sorry.
These fans only run at 6v. The speedo puts out more...

The Seis fan harnesses a proprietary perpetual energy source equivalent to the sun's core in order to work properly. Then it triangulates the magnetic forces of the polar caps into the cooling effects of liquid nitrogen. This process is code named: "Whoosh." Wrap your head around that. Hanulec is quite a genius.

This made me chuckle.

Yeah, the fan port on HW speedos fan puts out a good bit more voltage than the receiver does.

As I am pretty new to touring car, I've been struggling with motor temp and gearing. As i searched RC Tech I came across this thread. I had a mounted fan on my T4 but I couldn't get the temps under control. At one point I blew my revtech because of it. I recently purchased 2 from Mike and what a difference!!!
It dropped my temps 30+ degree's. Not only has this fan saved me money but has given piece of mind as well. Mike I'm going to need another one because AJ from critters was having the same issue and gave him my second one!! After he ran his main and bumped to the A his words were "UNBELIEVABLE!! thanks again Mike see you at the nats!!!
