Ea has his excellent 5000 70c packs in stock, as well as his new 8200 80c.

Default Puffed Batteries

How puffed is too much?

I left a couple 1S and 2S batteries in a very hot pit room for 2-3 weeks and they puffed up. Each of them rocks on my setup board about 1/8". The cases are in tact, but one of the 2S batteries feels "squishy".

I cycled them on my iCharger just to see if their numbers are still good. 10A charge with a 10A discharge (don't have equipment to do higher discharge).

All the batteries came off the cycles with resistance less than 3 ohms per cell.

Numbers say the cells are still good, but I can't tell if they pass the smell test.

What do you think?

All batteries will puff a little when put through use and especially heat. As long as they still perform well and numbers look good I will still use them UNLESS the case seam starts to split and the battery just looks like it could break open at any time. Then I will not use them anymore. I always use a lipo sack and always keep an eye on them when charging (Make sure to always balance charge too).

Thanks

As far as I know everyone is running the 12.5HT rotor in pretty much all spec classes. Some people have ran the 12.3 standard as well and it will run better down the straight but the car has to be very very good or it will heat up and fade.
