Eric, have you begun your moving, if so, where are you moving to?

And just out of curiosity, when will you do motor rebuilds (as in while you are moving, or after you get there) if you have a ballpark date that would be great.

Hey Guys,
Yes, EA Motorsports had a very good weekend. Furman qualified 10th and ended up 8th. I qualified 2nd and ended up 3rd. Eli qualified 5th and ended up 10th a I believe. Everyone had mad rip all weekend. EA ended up in the B after some rough luck in a very good qualifying run. He was right on pace behind me but tapped a wall and broke. Look for us to be in full force at the 2005 Snowbird Nationals.

oh yeah,

ea racers had serious rip all weekend. especially the man himself. great run in the main, eric. i watched as you poked around lap after lap at buran's blocker lines. your patience in the main was to be admired. you and your car, were scary. too bad you didn't get a clean one on in qualifying.

this whole oval racer turned road coarse guy is bogus. now we're all gonna have to figure this motor thing out just to keep up.

nice work eric and all the ea drivers this weekend.

Default F-Brush

Eric,

I usually don't do things like this but this time I must...

Those F-Brushes are AWESOME! WOW! Incredible RIP! They work in Stock TC, Stock 1/12, and in the Reedy Q-Mag 19T. I am very impressed! Thanks again....

You don't think we could keep this a little secret....do you? LOL

Default F-Brush

I ordered a bunch of F-brushes a few weeks back (Must say the order process is excellent ) and decided to try them last weekend.
I used a Fantom 19x1 Hand-Wound arm (not a spec. arm) with the new F-brush instead of my trusty Reedy 767s.
After running in the motor for 10 mins and letting it cool down I was down 10 Watts (5%) on my Dyno (Robitronic), also the motor felt "flat" on the track. Changed back to 767s and the motor was good once more.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Default F-Brush

I put them in a fresh motor. Broke in at 3 volts for 300 seconds. Checked wear pattern. Run for another 150 seconds. Brushes were fully broken in. Skimmed comm. Reseat brushes for 15 seconds. Put in car and let it rip.

It was awesome on the track.

Spring tension set at 7.0 pos/6.5 neg on a fiddle stick.

Art,

Thanks for the motor help this weekend. I couldn't believe how much faster my 12th scale car was. Mad rip, tons of straightaway, and it lasted the whole run without falling off. The F-brushes are definately the best ones i've used.

It could be the springs were to hard for the F-lines,cause they carry a bit more silver then the trusty 767`s
This is a stab in the dark for me cos we don`t have hand wound 19 over here

Well, spring tension the same as Advil uses (6.5/7 FS) but I'll give it another go. I still have 9 pairs laying around so I'll have to use them

when i had the monsters before the new F line came out, he was using 767`s, so when the new brushe came out it was`nt as simple as change brushe cos we found the 767 spring setup was red/purple & that was to hard for the F-line, we changed to std grn/red combo(monster motor) & they were fine ;;lovely actually!!

When i tries runing the red/purple combo the F-line brushes did`nt perform as i expected, average speed & they faded as the run went on
But on grn/red combo;; speedy,speedy

Hope this helps in your quest for the perfect setup in a motor

Hi Vassago,

You might also want to consider shortening your break in time, the F-brush is fairly soft and should easily be fully broken in by the 300 second mark. I've been breaking mine in at 2 volts for 300 seconds and they seem to be fine, any more than that and you may just be wearing the serrations out. If you have any more questions let us know!!!

Thanks
Brandt

` it`s in the brush` in your sig
